One of our favourites is the Jesmond Fire Lookout. It requires a 4x4 vehicle or physical ability to complete a couple hour hike! We are a bit biased but our place is a very special one of a kind spot!

Clearwater BC is the gateway to Wells Gray Provincial Park which is home to over 40 named waterfalls, more than 200 kms of trail systems, exciting wildlife, and rich history. We are located 130 kms North from Kamloops in the heart of the Thompson Valley and on route to Jasper National Park. In the summer, there is an abundance of outdoor recreation activities. Whitewater rafting is our most popular activity by leaps and bounds! There is also swimming, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, paragliding, jet boat tours, canoeing, kayaking, and mountain biking to name a few. We also have a vibrant farmer's market with fresh and local grown and made items. There is music in the park, car shows, kayak festival, and so much more! In the winter months, there is ice fishing, sledding, snowshoeing, ice climbing, and the waterfalls are spectacular when they are frozen! Ask about special rates on activities as our guests!

A beautiful creek flows right by the campsite, dip your feet in. You can go for walks or nap under the Aspens! Spring note - snow has been melting and the ground is unthawing - please feel free to send me a message if you have any question about the gravel road. It can be muddy and bumpy while the road awaits its winter repairs. We are one hour outside of Kamloops on a maintained public gravel road, however AWD or 4WD recommended during late fall to late spring. We have no minimum stay but highly recommend two nights. Do not use google maps to find our place - it can be very confusing. Google maps may show coming to our property from Savona but the easiest drive is from Kamloops. Please use the directions that get emailed to you just before your stay. To get here head to the Kamloops airport then follow Tranquille Criss Creek Road. We do not recommend traveling this road in the dark if you are not familiar with it! Wonderfully private! Come give our land some love as it recovers from the 2021 Sparks Lake forest fire. Acres and acres to hike, mountain bike and snowshoe. Surrounded by crown land there is no lack of space to explore and easy access to forest service roads to quad and bike. Many lakes near by for fishing and kayaking. Wildlife galore! There are wild flowers and plants so come forage and explore. Disconnect from the busyness of city life! Akehurst Lake Wilderness Resort

A very remote, tranquil log cabin fishing camp hand-built in the 1960's. Akehurst Lake Wilderness Resort is only accessible by ATV (snowmobile in winter) or by foot (a 9-minute walk from the parking lot). There is no public access to the lake so it is wonderfully private & peaceful. We offer 5 cabins in total with some areas suitable for tents. There is a day-lodge with a kitchen and eating area for guest's use, kayaks, row boats, and a paddle board free for use as well as a wood-fired sauna! The lake is excellent for swimming. It is feet-friendly, shallow, and has no sudden drop-offs. And if you like to hike, fish or BOTH then this is the place for you. There are many nearby lakes that are a short drive/ride and hike away! Akehurst Lake does not have cell service or wifi. Lights are made possible by a gas generator in the evening. There is only cold running water in the day-lodge sink which is seasonal and depends on if the creek is running. Guests should be comfortable being in the woods and aware that if no one else is there, they will need to light the stove and fridge and operate the generator if needed. **Packing List** - Bedding (sheets & blankets or sleeping bag. Pillow covers) - Extra pillows (we provide 2 per cabin. Ask if more are available before arrival) - Towel/face cloth - Dish cloth & Dish towels - Paper towel/napkins - Toilet rolls - Lighter for fires (if applicable). Ours tend to all go missing or stop working - Flashlight - Drinking water - Cooler & ice You are welcome to create your own outdoor kitchen at your cabin, but we do ask you to be mindful of removing items from the day lodge that those using the kitchen might be counting on. ***We cannot stress this enough**: This is very remote. It is truly another world up there and we cannot be there at all times so it is a good idea to have some knowledge and experience in off-grid/backcountry living!

If you want the feeling of isolation, and privacy, while being completely surrounded by nature, then this is place for you.

SLEEPING: The cabin has two bedrooms separated by curtains from the living space and features: One queen Two single bunks One double futon HEATING/COOKING:There is a wood stove for heat and cooking and wood is supplied and cold running water in the summer months. A wood burning BBQ is available for use and a huge upright smoker for your fish haul (bring your own propane cylinder). BATHROOMS: There are no bathrooms in the cabin. Flush toilets and hot showers are available in the wash house steps away in the summer and in the lodge in the other months. ELECTRICITY: The cabins have no electricity. Please bring your own lanterns and flashlights. WATER FUN: The cabin is RIGHT ON THE WATER and in the summer we have dock for jumping off of or launching a boat. We have kayaks, floaties and paddle boards available on a first come first served basis. Boat rental with 6.5 HP motor also available for $99 a day. Ice fishing is excellent in the winter. WE PROVIDE: dishes, cups, mugs, cutlery, cooking pots and some utensils. YOU NEED TO BRING: whatever you need for sleeping (bags or blankets and sheets, pillows), food, drinking water, and personal items such as towels and toiletries. Firewood and water (from the lake) for washing is provided. There is no fridge so you will need to bring a cooler with ice for your perishables. Town is an hour away. CHECK-OUT: Please leave the cabin clean and tidy and pack out all your garbage and left-over food. ACCESS: We are located 50 km down a logging road and we advise access only by 4-wheel drive vehicles although many cars have made it in the summer. In the winter, access is an ice road. Drivable but slippery. We request that you call/email when you hit the gravel road 50 km away so we know when to expect you. You have access to the lodge property, lake, dock, trails, grass area and kayaks/floaties/paddle boards when available. Boat rental available with gas for $99 per day. Pets welcome with a $35 per pet per stay fee.

Let's be real...when booking a lakefront vacation in BC it's all about the lake and Timothy Lake will not disappoint. Timothy Lake is the perfect size, large enough to be unrestricted and offer great fishing, but small enough where you aren't always battling waves. As you venture from the shoreline you'll eventually loose site of the resort and soon find a public sandy beach, an uninhabited island, and a water channel connecting into Dempsey Lake. We've never heard that Dempsey is a great fishing lake, but it is a cool journey by paddle or small boat, and shows just how awesome the natural world is.....but watch for underwater branches throughout the channel cause a wrecked prop can make a good mad a bad mood - really quick. Located off the beaten track, Timothy Lake is seldom used by weekend warriors and is never too busy - making it great for swimming, water skiing, fishing or just floating around in one of those giant inflatable flamingo's...... if that's your thing. **There is a pet fee at $55/ per pet, you can add this to your booking at checkout.
