Coe Ranch Campground
Description
Outside of Morgan Hill, Coe Ranch Campground has both RV and tent camping. All sites include a fire ring, picnic table, vault toilets, and access to piped water. Campsite scenery ranges from cozy spots under shady oaks to steps away from a panoramic view. If your site doesn't have a tree, shared ramadas are provided.
If you are more into the tent-only scene, go for sites 5, 6,7, 10,11 and 12. There are also 82 hike-in, bike-in campsites, which can be accessed as long as you have a backcountry permit. (Get one from the visitor center.)
As always, be prepared with your own supplies, especially water, as there are no drinking facilities. Keep in mind that things can get pretty windy and most of the sites are sloped downhill, so make sure those lids are on tight!

Stayed at #17, which is right next to the employee housing. Just FYI. It's the only site next to a building. But otherwise very quiet campground. Rained in the morning. Would come here again but try for sites 4,5,6 or 7 and bring bug spray!
This may have changed, but you have to hike down to the water area from some of the campsites. Don't run down the hill, walk or your knees will suffer the next day.
We stayed at site 6. As another reviewer said, close to sites 5 and 7, but the they are father away from the parking spots, so no road noise. That also means it's a bit of a trek from car to site but worth it in my opinion.
Can get super hot! Allergy city.
Its either hot or pouring rain here in my experience but still full of good memories!
Another thing to add--when putting it in google maps make sure to enter Coe Ranch Campground, not Henry Coe State Park. If you get directions to the state park it will take you to the completely wrong place and you will get very lost... :P
Nice smaller sized campground only 20-30 min from the 101 freeway, would recommend to friends. We stayed at campsite 13 which was by far the most private campground we saw, and had a great time. Some of the other campsites looked very cozy and open, get one on the eastern outside of the loop if you want to have some shade.
Hip Camp says that campsite 5-7 are secluded-- but only if you have all 3 sites. They're very close to each other with no privacy but a spectacular view. Go with sites 10-12 if you want privacy. Better yet: pay the extra $$ to book a Manzanita Group Camp.
