We had an amazing time camping here! Beautiful place and awesome host!

2 nights at Trailer Lane Campground

This site was a gem! With a view of Mt Shasta, the campground is quiet and serene. With lake Shastina just a few minutes away, there are plenty of things to do, including hiking and a 15 min drive to see the waterfalls. The rv site is fully prepped and there is a market on the property with fresh eggs, rv supplies, firewood, etc. etc. Our two kids 7 & 11 loved the farm animals and spent hours walking on the property and enjoying the outdoors. The campground is safe and clean, and the owners are very welcoming. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Noam was very friendly and accommodating. Our site in his front yard had a nice view of Mt. Shasta and it was very quiet inside our RV there. It was also very conveniently situated close to I-5.

Nice site in a quiet neighborhood. We had the choice of 3 spots and chose one with a beautiful view of Mt Shasta. Host met us and gave us useful information on the site and where we could go for a walk. 26’ rv had no problem maneuvering.

We really enjoyed our stay at Shasta Mountaineer. We set up our RV among a stand of tall trees in front of (host) Noam’s house. The site was pretty level. We had a close-up view of the peak of Mt. Shasta from our bedroom window. Gorgeous! Noam is the most pleasant, easy-going person one could ever hope to meet. He’s a soft-spoken guy who’s attentive to the guests’ needs, but not more than one would want. We felt very relaxed while we were there.

Beautiful, spacious, and private site! We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. It was easy to get to and the space was prepared for us thoughtfully. A fire pit was setup for us on arrival. Was very happy to have the amenities of a water host, fire ring, trash cans, picnic table, toilet, and plenty of firewood. It was very quiet and peaceful with lots of passing sounds of birds around. Could not have asked for a better weekend getaway. Lots of trees and clear skies for us to gaze at day/night. Host was responsive and very kind. Even offered to mail a dog toy we accidentally left behind.

This facility is more like a campground than an RV Park! Several back-in sites with full hookups on the outer perimeter, like A4, are surrounded by oak and pine trees. The facility is spotless in general. The bathrooms/shower rooms were heated, and the shower stalls were new and in perfect shape. Laundry facility onsite as well. It is a great place to restock and recharge if you are on a long journey or just spending time in the Mt Shasta, Weed, Yreka area. This will be my go-to place in the Nor-Cal I5/97 corridor.

As a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe and comfortable at Trailer Lane. The grounds were clean and organized, the bathrooms were spotless. I was not in the least bothered by the freeway sounds. I will definitely reserve a spot again next time I make the trip from California to Oregon. Many thanks for a comfortable, clean, safe place to stay!

Guys. This site in INCREDIBLE. Stay if you get the chance. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful. If you are coming from the north and Google tells you to stop on the right side of the road, it's wrong. There's a little house a bit further up on the left.

We absolutely loved Lisa's little cabin. It is well kept & has all the little amenities you may need including ear plugs for the near by train, toiletries, games, and even a heated mattress pad that my husband and I feel in love with.... so much that we even bought a pad for ours back home! Really nice hardwood floors, electric fireplace and internet made the stay warm & cozy. We loved the weather, local hikes & restaurants too! Pizza Factory & Yaks are must eats. We will definitely be making this our annual anniversary spot. ❤️

We absolutely loved this camping area! The site was clean, well-maintained, and the view was truly stunning. On a clear, moonless night, the sky came alive with stars and constellations—it was breathtaking. We even heard a few coyotes howling in the distance, which added to the wilderness experience without being disruptive. The host, Alex, was fantastic and went above and beyond by helping us with extra firewood, which we really appreciated. This is definitely a spot we’d love to return to in the summer. The only thing that could make this place even better would be the addition of toilet facilities. Overall, a wonderful experience! Highly recommend.

Great spot - right off I-5, easy to get to, clean and you get some peek a boo glimpses of Mount Shasta. The layout of the campground is very thoughtful, the host has great communication and there is a little camp store if you forgot something. The animals onsite are a bonus!

The yurt is beautiful and well equipped with all the necessities including a wood burning stove and plenty of kindling and dry firewood, teas, coffee, clean drinking water, a cook stove, and more. It is a peaceful, quiet setting in the woods. The sounds of the wind in the trees and the water flowing through the stream are restful and calming. The caretakers of this land have created a lovely sanctuary, with numerous points of interest to explore. Highly recommended!

Big Bend's annual Trout Derby is back!! Starting April 26, so get here early so you'll be ready for the big events! Our 120 remote acres are adjacent to Shasta Trinity National Forest in the beautiful Cascade Range between Mt. Lassen and Mt. Shasta in Northern California. It's a working ranch with tree farms, animals, hydroelectric power, sawmill, gardens, orchards, creeks, springs, trails, and our camp alongside Kosk Creek. We're 54 miles from Redding off of 299E, (about 1-1/2 hour drive). DO NOT TAKE ROAD 11 FROM THE NORTH, IT IS CLOSED! PIease try to ignore the "car art" in the Pit River Tribe's Rancheria as you're coming here. Drive right through it, it's no reflection on us. The last mile or so of the road here can be pretty rough, but on arrival, you'll know it's worth the trip! No Cell phone service available here, so it's the perfect opportunity to unplug. We do have a land line up at the house in case of an emergency. Also, if you really need it, WiFi is available at the house.

If you are turning onto a dirt road without a sign....you are on the wrong road. Juniper Valley Spur is my short culdesac road with a road sign and a locked green pipe rail gate at the end. We have 3 RV sites available for campers to book. Please note that we do not have RV hookups for any of the sites. You will be parking on loose gravel and the sites are relatively flat. We can accommodate most RVs/trailers, if you are uncertain about the size just send me a message. There is a portapotty in the hay barn cleaned regularly and a water spigot for non-potable water uses or for a quick outdoor shower with a handheld spritzer. It is not enclosed so you will need to be discreet. Pets are allowed at campsites #2 and #3 only. These campsites are farthest from the horses and dogs. Please keep dogs on leash at all times. Our property offers a beautiful view of Mount Shasta. Nature lovers, extreme sports enthusiasts, family vacationers and retirees, can all enjoy the vast recreational opportunities this area has to offer. Lake Siskiyou is about 20 miles south and offers a wonderful 7-mile hiking trail around the entire lake. Bring your horses too. I have a couple of electric-fenced paddocks for visitors.

We are constantly working to upgrade this system but there is no guarantee of its operating status or available bandwidth. It has been pretty reliable after our last upgrade. Each FHU RV Site has a TV connected to our new 48 Channel, Digital, DirecTV system. Some TV’s are not compatible with our MP4 Digital System and some guests have difficulty configuring their RV/TV system. We have some troubleshooting tips that give 95% of our RV guests access to our TV System but there are no guarantees. DINE IN A RAILROAD CAR The Dining Car Restaurant is one of the most interesting restaurants in Dunsmuir, CA. Built inside authentic, vintage railroad cars, the restaurant is a museum itself. Inside its antique cars is an atmosphere steeped in nostalgia. Antique hand tools, gauges, pictures, signals and other artifacts recall the glory days of railroading in the west and specifically the Dunsmuir and McCloud area. Above the bar is a hand built scale replica of the Southern Pacific Cascade, which once plied the rails between San Francisco and Portland. Enjoy your favorite cocktail or a specialty drink. Farther away but worth the drive, especially in the warmer months, is Whiskeytown Lake, a 3,000 surface-acre reservoir of crystal-clear water that’s perfect for sailing, kayaking, fishing, and windsurfing. If you prefer to stay dry, admire it from the shore and hike to the 220-foot Whiskeytown Falls. A drive to the east are the fascinating steam vents, mud pots, fumaroles, and Sulphur Works of Lassen Volcanic National Park.

We also offer a variety of workshops to teach our guests various skills such as building a small cabin or a 10,000 sq. ft. custom handcrafted log home. We even have raised bed designs with high tunnels for year-round gardening, and we teach cloning methods for healthier plants, composting, and making custom soil designed to your specific needs. If you're interested in Permaculture, Hugelkultur, or Aquaponics, we've got you covered. We are certified. We'll teach you everything you need to know about properly using chainsaws (non-operating), including instruction on using an Alaskan Mill, maintenance and repair, wood splitting, and stacking. For those interested in firearms (without ammunition) or crossbows, we'll teach you cleaning, maintenance, and safety. If you have no clue about mechanics, “You should” out there doing all this traveling. We even offer a workshop on small engines to big engines maintenance and repair, as well as the use of diagnostics and the necessary tools. For those who want to take things to the next level, we offer a 1-hour crash course on the maintenance, safety, and operation of a Bobcat E45 excavator. We just moved here one year ago and are working to turn this into a small hobby farm for people to visit and have a memorable experience. It is right on the Scott River and has a creek flowing through the center of it. We have a vegetable garden, lots of fruit trees and very lovable chickens to visit with. There is a common space with a gas firepit, bar and dart board to hang in after spending the day hiking through the National Forest surrounding the property. There is a small town 15 minutes down the road with a grocery store, library, brewery, butcher, bakery and distillery. The Callahan Emporium is only 3 minutes up the road and has snacks, burgers, live music, beer and wine! We have everything you need while surrounded by beautiful nature.

With decks on the roofs and an amazing view, the golden hour doesn't get much better. There is even a Rock Climbing wall. Lots of insane roads and places to explore. Humbug Creek was a famous gold mining valley with lots of lore and mystique. Located very remotely yet only 20 minutes to the I-5 and Yreka. An awesome place to get off the road and spend a few with epic beauty. Amazing for Dirt Biking too!

Learn more about this land:We are located on the remote South Fork of the Salmon River surrounded by 3 wilderness areas (Marble Mountains, Trinity Alps and Russian Wilderness) we are a wonderful place to base a wilderness adventure out of or just come to enjoy the peace tranquility and natural beauty of the area. Our property is located along a small creek with some dipping holes and a nice shaded creek to play in, there are great swimming holes near by to explore. We have a 21 hole professional disc golf course on the property as well as a gas station and The Salmon River Saloon (which is currently open by reservation only). We can accommodate large groups, however there are extra fees because have to bring in extra bathrooms. Disc golf course fees are included in camping fees. Note, the Salmon River road from Somes Bar to Cecilville is a one lane road with 2 way traffic and not recommended for those pulling trailer unless you are up for an adventure come via HWY 3 through Weaverville with a trailer if you are coming from the coast. Please note we are completely off Grid, there is no Cell service within 50 miles of the location.
