Learn more about this land: You'll arrive at our barn and home, probably greeted by a variety of animals. Walking past the pond and through the field towards the tree line, you'll arrive at our tiny cabin situated on a hill with the salt marsh below. The cabin is furnished with a full sized futon, a wooden bench, beehive working woodstove, and shelving. There are candle lanterns provided, however we suggest also bringing a few flashlights. Depending on the season we have farm vegetables and eggs available, kayaks available upon request to use to explore the salt marsh and harbors right out in front of the cabin. A short drive and you can find numerous hiking areas and beaches or take the longer 1 hour and 15 min ride to Bar Harbor. The cabin is not visible to the main house, though sound may travel. You'll have a beautiful view of the water facing west for sun sets. We access the water and trails around the fields foraging for berries with our kiddos and dogs, along with rotating the grazing animals and will provide ample space to respect your privacy. A small gas grill and cooler can be provided, Cabin has no electric or running water. Water can be accessed from the main house and/or barn pumps depending on season, however will need to be brought down to cabin. Outhouse is located nearby.

We maintain pollinator habitats, tend an orchard of heirloom-variety fruit trees, and conserve rare heritage-breed animals, including Tamworth pigs and Scottish Highland Cattle. Our shared love for Celtic folk culture has blended naturally with our love of sustainable agriculture to create Tir na nOg Farm. Today, the work of restoration continues with the help of farm partners, family, friends, WWOOFers, and other volunteers. Its 108-acres feature historic cabins and 4000 feet of frontage on Cobbossee Stream in West Gardiner. The property’s coniferous and deciduous woods, vernal pools, and marshlands are important habitat for many species of birds, mammals, and plants. In 2018, the Maine Cabin Masters renovated two of the stream-side cabins, which now serve as rustic getaways for Hipcampers and the like. A small dock and canoes are available for use on the wide and deep flatwater stream! *NEW 2024 - A dock has been added to cabin 2, so each cabin now has it's own private dock. One day my children. 3 large tent sites and two camper sites. Future cabin and seasonal RV sites. A brook runs through the property but dries up after June. There is a small pond with rock stairs. Deer and turkey are frequently seen. Peace and serenity. This property does not offer complete seclusion. You will see other campers if all 3 sites are occupied. There is spacious distance. What this location offers is that it is centrally located to mountains, oceans, lakes,concert venues, restaurants, nightlife, shopping and antiquing. Traveling to NH and Massachusetts is a day trip. A few hours and your in central Maine. Cross the border into Canada. So much to explore or just relax. Stay a few nights or stay the season. 2023 is off to a great camping season. Already meeting new campers. Hopefully I'll see some familiar faces from 2022. A few upgrades. There is an outside water faucet, an outlet and an outside shower...hot and a privacy fence.
