Weekend Trip to Working Ranch just outside Bend

Would recommend! It’s so cute and host was friendly, responsive, greeted us, and chatted about the area. The COWS WERE ADORABLE! Got to watch them be fed in the morning. The grass was amazing for tent camping (me and three friends split between two tents) and we all slept great! Would recommend walking to Oregon Badlands Wilderness trail too, we had a great sunset there!

Weekend Trip to deer acres

Our host has really done a great job creating pull through camp spaces. Perfectly layed out opposing spaces with an island of services between them. BBQ stands, durable hand made fire rings, picnic tables, garbage station - all in excellent condition. Host even provides sewer hose ramp/stands for waste water. Well cared for lawns also! We’re considering setting up our own Hipcamp and this is the example we’l be using when we do so. Absolutely saved as a favorite and if we should travel to/through the area again this is the place we’ll look for.

2 nights at Working Ranch just outside Bend

Mackenzie's place is a dream! It is a wide open beautiful space with animals scattered throughout the ranch. There's a hike nearby and lots to see. Mackenzie is a friendly and accommodating host. Will definitely be returning to this site!

Weekend Trip to Experience Heaven

My favorite winter getaway. I’ve been here twice now and am already planning my next visit. Love this place!

2 nights at The Camp Campground

The site was clean and easy to back my 24' trailer into. The location in convenient to most all things Bend. Bathroom was clean, dog park was clean, it is a nice place to camp in downtown (nearly) Bend.

1 night at Picknik Place

I just needed a place to park my car and sleep on my way south from Washington, and this camp was perfect for that. The spots are far enough from the house to feel private, and they have picnic tables and firewood. There is a lot of road noise, but it lessened after dark, so it wasn't too bad. Also, I was greeted by a friendly dog upon arrival (Hi Mateo!) which is always nice!

We made a last minute reservation. Everything was great and a potential problem was handled well by Andrew. Would definitely stay again.

Campsite is on a second driveway to the front of the house on a wooded, half-acre lot in a quiet neighborhood in Southwest Bend. House lots are big and the area provides nice cool morning walks. There is a curb at the start of the driveway but aids will be provided if necessary. Electrical (110x2; 50A with converter to 30A), water, and sewer hookups are available! There is a fenced in yard that may be used if your dog(s) get along with mine and you help with poop patrol. You will need to check the fence line to confirm that your dogs cannot get out, as I am not responsible if they escape. A large part of my yard is rewilding, so you will see tall grasses and increasing varieties of flowers over the years. A hot tub may be available by appointment. House is enhanced by the use of focused life force energy (FLFE.net), so enjoy relaxing in the higher vibes. There is one cat to rule us all and she may grace you with her presence if you welcome her. Site is located an easily walkable ½ mile from a shopping center with grocery (just closed but hoping for another to take its place), vet, Mexican and Asian-fusion restaurants, and a wine bar with occasional entertainment. Beyond that, is a park with a climb to a tall hill with a lovely 360 overlook view of the surrounding mountains. There is access to the river and river trail about ¾ mile walk away - this trail can take you all the way to Farewell Park and the Old Mill shopping area. And a bus stop is around the corner, just about a house length away. This is a great base location for all your adventures in Bend and surrounding areas, and a quiet place in which to relax afterwards. I enjoy hosting and always welcome any guidance, suggestions, and creative ideas.

I have quit doing that for a variety of reasons, the least being the cost and the work for me. I am encouraging everyone to purchase a Propane Fire Pit if you don't have one by now. I am not to the point yet of saying no big dogs. Talk to me if you think your "big dog" might not fit in. I don't like running thru other campers sites, so just be respectful. Take them for walks along the lake, not having them run thru everyone else's camp sites. No Yappers, no barking dogs, no yapper's, no pain in the butts. Why would you drive by 46 grocery stores and forget to bring ice? No loud music. I have changed quiet time to 9:00 PM. You need to listen to the chaos/stressful music I suggest you start a band or become a DJ. What I want folks to get out of being here, whether they are camping or staying in the Gers is just to “take a break”. Relax, appreciate, assess and just listen. I hope what you hear is the sound of life and of course all the Angels that make up this special piece of Heaven. Then there is the silence. The best part of “Heaven”.

Short, scenic, back road drive to Bend downtown, 45 minutes to Mt. Bachelor. Just minutes to Tumalo State Park and Tumalo Reservoir. Park in our large wrap-around driveway under our beautiful Ponderosa pines and fall asleep to the gorgeous view of the stars with no obnoxious streetlights. Don’t worry, we have a flood light and cameras to keep you and your stuff safe! Then wake up to the smell of our Juniper trees and watch our local group of mule deer grazing through the yard with views of Tumalo Mountain. Just across the street starts the Canal Trail that heads East and West. A 5 min bike ride East along the trail will take you to a Fred Meyer Grocery store, Starbucks, and much much more. Or take the Canal Trail West through the massive 123+ acres of forested public land that connects directly to the Deschutes River Trail (only 4 mins away). Once there, the outdoor activities are endless! Great fishing, bouldering, biking, swimming, rafting, and nature viewing spots are all within a couple minute walk from our home. Heading to the Old Mill or Hayden Homes Amphitheater for some shopping, a concert, restaurants, or drinks? It all starts 3/4 of a mile down the hill! If you’re viewing this posting, you probably already know all the amazing outdoor and sporting opportunities, entertainment, shopping, and eating that our beautiful town of Bend offers. Our property is near the Bend, Oregon, municipal airport with fun planes flying around, creating the perfect spot for anyone who loves aviation. Right now, we have the ability for you to hook up to a sewer dump but no water or electrical connections. There is also no access to a bathroom, so you need to have that packed for yourself. Bend is an amazing outdoor adventure park, and if you need a place to stay in your camper/RV or post up a tent for the night, we are happy to help accommodate. Please come and respect our ranch property as if it was your own and we would love to host you.

Overview

With year-round sunshine and easy access to some of Oregon's most popular outdoor recreation sites, Bend is a great spot for an RV getaway. Summers are popular for hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, and whitewater rafting, while winters bring fans of snowsports to the area to snowboard and ski the slopes of Mount Bachelor. Although Bend is Central Oregon's largest city, you won't need to venture far to find RV parks, RV campsites, and solitude in the great outdoors. The Deschutes River is one of the biggest attractions in the area, offering ample opportunities for swimming, boating, and paddling. You'll also find plenty of private parks with electric and full hookup sites, including Cove Palisades State Park, Tumalo State Park, and LaPine State Park. If you want to get a bit deeper into the woods, head to the nearby Ochoco National Forest to the east of Bend or into the massive Willamette National Forest west of town.
