Weekend Trip to Fairview Farms Airfield

We had a great weekend camping at the unique setting of Fairfield Farm. Bill and Erin were wonderful hosts. The farm fresh eggs they offer are great and the option of unlimited firewood takes the guesswork out of the equation. The grass airstrip with an old plane at the edge of the field with the mountains in the background make for great photos. We definitely recommend staying here, it’s peaceful and serene.

While our site was up against the garage and not a traditional scenic campsite that we are used to, the location was excellent and worked well for our stay. The real highlight was the warm hospitality—Bill and Nancy are fantastic hosts who made us feel welcome from the start. Their property is peaceful, and we appreciated the convenience of being close to everything we wanted to explore. It was a great spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy the surroundings. This campground was exactly as stated and pictured. Tent sites are located on the water which was really cool. The host was super nice and helpful. The portable toilets were the cleanest I’ve seen anywhere which was unexpected but truly appreciated. Thanks for the memories.

There are a total of 2 sites. The land was vacant for decades and unfortunately used to dump household garbage during that time. We cleaned up the land, built a home and bat habitat. We, Sarah and Stein, always disliked renting a camp site somewhere and then ending up on top of people. So it was our goal to make space on our land for campers like us that want to be surrounded by nature, not other camp sites. A portion of the proceeds from your stay will be donated to bat habitat conservation and bat sanctuaries around the world. We are grateful for the hundreds of campers that have stayed with us. Thank you to all of you that have left a clean site and not made unnecessary noise that would disturb the countless species that share the forest with us. Also, Thank You for patronizing local businesses while you are here. We'll give you a map so you can see where to take a short walk to get to the lake. There are miles of hiking trails a few minutes walk from your campsite. Beltzville Lake is a great place for paddling. The boat launch is just a few minutes drive from Camp. In addition to the beautiful immediate surroundings, we are centrally located near many exciting destinations. Year round activities at Blue Mountain Resort, adventure on The Appalachian Trail, fine dining, biking the rail trail and whitewater rafting in Jim Thorpe, all within a 25 minute drive. The property is not suitable for parties or events. The area is a QUIET ZONE. Ideal for people looking to unplug from it all and become one with nature. It is teaming with wildlife and is ideal for birding. The hosts mission is to disturb wildlife and its habitats as little as possible. Now, our property has become our retirement sanctuary, for us to use with our RV. We developed 2 RV sites with full hookups, including 30, 50 Amp and 110 electric. There is water and sewage hookups, at both sites. We would like to share this sanctuary with others, who would appreciate it. Our property is one mile from Cowanesque Lake, where there is fishing, boating, and swimming. You will enjoy wildlife, on our property and in the surrounding area such as deer, bald eagles, various birds, hoot owls at night, and others. It is also within driving distance from the Finger Lakes and wineries, Watkins Glenn, Corning Glass Museum, Leonard Harrison and Colton Point State Parks, Hills Creek State Park, Mansfield University, Tioga Boar Hunting Reserve, and the adorable town of Wellsboro. There are no lights on our property and is very dark at night. It is best to arrive during daylight, for easier RV hook up. However, due to the darkness, stargazing is spectacular. We have been able to see the Milky Way, at times. There is only one other home visible from the campsites. Enjoy!

We don't sell fuel or offer services beyond camping so we primarily have only air traffic with few to no landings each year.
