North of the faux-Bavarian town of Leavenworth in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, Lake Wenatchee is a great spot for kayaking, fishing, and breathing in fresh alpine air. You can park your RV right in Lake Wenatchee State Park on the eastern edge of the lake, where you'll find dump stations and pull-through utility sites that can accommodate larger RVs and campervans. However, reservations open up nine months in advance and the park's popularity means that you might have trouble snagging a last-minute reservation if youre planning a summer visit. Other options include US Forest Service-managed campsites in the surrounding national forest, available seasonally on a first-come, first-served basis and typically dispersed spots for self-contained campers. If you have trouble securing a reservation, opt for a private RV campground in the general area, particularly around Leavenworth, as these are quieter alternatives to busy campgrounds.
