Dancy Art Camp!

6 sites · RVs, Tents2 acres · Mosinee, WI
Nestled amongst the red pine forest of George W. Mead State Wildlife Area (over 33,000 acres of public land use including bird watching, hiking, kayaking, fishing, and more), you will find the historical "Dancy Depot!" Great for folks just travelling through, bikepackers, adventure-seekers, artists, and folks looking for a fun getaway, alike! This site houses the original train station and post office, built in the 1850's, for the town of Dancy, Wisconsin. Not only that, it is now the site of Dancy Art Camp, and campers have access to all the fun art camp spaces during your stay. Art workshops and/or classes led by Dancy Art Camp Leaders (also conveniently your camp hosts) can be added on to your stay for an additional cost, for adults, children, or all ages. Take a short 1-3 minute walk back into the woods to choose an area to set up your tent. There are several open air shelters available for day use. Make friends with the host chickens (Pizza, Helen, Quartz, Oreo, Big Brownie, Aunt Kathy, Cherry, Garcia, Little Orp, and Linguine) and get some fresh eggs for your breakfast. Baked goods and other treats also available for purchase upon request. You will have full access to the campfire circle, outdoor game room (foosball for the win!), and nature playscape (yes, even adults can swing on the rope!). The property also provides other outdoor games such as good ole' fashioned tetherball, a gaga ball pit (Israeli Dodgeball), and a variety of other sport equipment to use during your stay. This area offers a host of additional activities and amenities. Boating, swimming, fishing, and other water activities are abundant, with the closest water access less than 5 minutes away. Conveniently located between Wausau, Mosinee, Stevens Point, and Marshfield.
