We have about 40 acres and trails through the area for exploring. You just may come across some "forts" constructed by some of our grandchildren. There is a large fire pit and plenty of firewood for a minimal cost. (Trash can full. ) If you listen in the evening, you are likely able to hear a couple of owls talking back and forth. Usually you can see some deer and maybe some turkeys. There are many old pines around the property, the last remnants of our Christmas tree farm. There is no electricity in the cabin, but we do have two solar lights and some battery lights. If it's been rainy, the solar won't work as well. We have cornhole game available upon request and some table games kept in cabin. If you want to go biking, there is a trail in town, about 5 miles away. The cabin has two futons, one is full-size, and the other is queen size. There is a table and chairs and shelves for kitchen storage, limited pots, pans and utensils available. Campstove is available, for outside use only. At present, there is no heat source inside. There is an outhouse. If more than four people in your group, there are several spots where a tent can be placed. At this time we are not furnishing any bedding. Water will be supplied in 2 seven gallon jugs, with spouts. Firewood will also be available for a minimal cost. Additional water will be furnished when needed There is a 30-inch grill grate to place over the fire pit and several chairs.

Completely private
Really loved how off the grid and tucked away this cabin was away from everything else. It made you feel you were completely private, and could let yourself completely relax without hearing trucks drive by or other people near by on the property either camping or living.

Lovely stay.
With kids
Fantastic secluded spot. Quiet and peaceful. Lovely cabin with everything you need. Cathy is a hospitable and kind host. She makes a tasty apple pie. If you’re in need of a pizza and beer, try Steele Street Brewing in town.

The Sweetest Cabin...
If only love could resurrect all structures like it did Cathy & Dan's cabin! No stone was left unturned (or unloved) in the creation of this cedar masterpiece and my daughter and I were delighted to spend a weekend soaking up the sounds of frogs and crickets, star gazing, and wandering through the happy trees. We brought along some solar lights, bedding and snacks and had everything we needed. Thoughtful and kind hostess Cathy guided us to the hideaway and made sure we were comfortable and care for... and we had a perfect and relaxing stay. A++

A Beautiful Cabin in the Forest
My stay at the Tucked Away cabin was great! The hosts were kind enough to meet me when I arrived and showed me the way back to the Cabin. After a few tips I was left to enjoy this secluded corner of lower Michigan. The tall trees and sounds of nature surround you as you relax by the fire here, it is quite special. The cabin is well stocked so your stay goes off without a hitch. The table inside and the picnic tables outside allow you to enjoy your meals, rain or shine. The beds are both quite comfortable! For anyone looking to spend some time in the forest, but keep a solid roof over their head, I highly recommend staying at the Tucked Away Cabin!
