1 night at "Elysium Heritage Farm"

I’’ve stayed at few hip camps and it always surprises me at how hospitable the hosts are and all of the extras an amenities that they offer. There is quite a bit of expense and time and effort that goes into creating a great place to stay, maintaining an on going camp and providing a camp that is coarse and set up to go when you arrive. The level of preparation and provision certainly exceeded my expectations. From the amount of and quality of hardwood wood provided, including kindling, was a great value. The prep area, trashcan, take, table cloth on the picnic table, and a clean outhouse and general tradition meds of the drive and area were all greatly appreciated. The place is a work in progress and I lol forward to what it becomes. I stayed in the vines sight because h a a camper of sorts. The cabin on the little pond looks very cool and would be a great place to hang out with friends and family.. Very interesting place to explore. The little pond with canal that connects the big pond is a pretty cool feature, along with the covered bridge. The animals an the farm were also pretty cool. The farm site is very inventive and also seems like a great spot to hang out with F&F. Definitely one of the hippest hip camps and worth a visit!

Weekend Trip to Provision Family Farms

We had an amazing time enjoying the wilderness up in this beautiful Treehouse. We were lucky enough to see a group of turkeys walk through the site. We are looking forward to planning another visit in the future.

Weekend Trip to Be Wild and Free

Super simple directions. Wide open land. We had to fight of the raindrops, but there were a couple dry”er” spots available. Saw a handful and sandhill cranes, deer and turkeys!

Beautiful property and cabin. Rick was a great host. Lots of additional recreation opportunities on public land just down the road. The family had a blast and we will be booking again in the future

Weekend Trip to Bear Tree Homestead

We stayed at the Pond Cabin for the second time and it was just as great as the first! They now have a sauna available to reserve and I highly recommend adding it to your stay! The sauna was beautifully built and worked perfectly and they let us use it for 2 hours which was more than enough time. They also had a hole in the pond ice for a cold plunge right next to the sauna which greatly added to the overall experience. The cabin was clean and cozy. The hosts are extremely friendly and responsive. Winter/early spring is the best time to stay at the Pond Cabin. We will be back as soon as possible!

1 night at Blooming Bus Farms

Great experience and a fun place to stay. We had some pretty strong storms roll through during our stay. We stayed warm and dry in our yurt. Our weiner dog had fun too.

Had a great time “glamping” at the blooming bus farm! My fiancé and I came from Chicago for a weekend away and it was perfect. The farm itself is super cute and the campsites are cozy. It rained most of our 2nd day, but we set up a table in the heated tent to play games which was perfect. Definitely recommend for a weekend away!

Loved my experience! Was just looking to spend a night under the stars and get out of Grand Rapids for a night and this was the perfect spot for it. Had the campground to myself, since it was still March. All was quiet and peaceful. Wish I could’ve had time to meet the animals! I do plan to come back sometime to do so. Got some farm fresh eggs and left feeling rejuvenated. Thanks so much!!

Weekend Trip to 2Chicks And A Farm

This was a perfect overnight trip and can't wait to come back! The tent, camp beds, and chairs were super comfortable. But Julie really creates something special with her extra touches. We added on the extras- dinner and breakfast. I enjoy cooking over a fire but a three course meal? Delicious!! Dessert was perfect with hot little fruit pies with ice cream! The animals were fun. We made bestie with a little calico kitty who spent the evening and morning with us. I got to visit the baby goats, and the chickens made the rounds chaperoned by their rooster. And when our car battery was dead, we even got a jump. Full service. Everyone we met was friendlyand welcoming. Yay!

4 nights at "Elysium Heritage Farm"

We had an absolute blast, even though the weather wasn't exactly perfect! Honestly, I can't complain at all – our spot was simply stunning, and Kim, our host, was incredibly accommodating. We spent our days wandering through the woods while the kids joyfully played with the goats. The campground was set up beautifully and offered a nice private retreat for us to unwind. Evenings were magical as we roasted marshmallows around the campfire, sharing laughs and stories. One morning, I was thrilled to spot a family of deer gracefully moving through the trees during my walk. It was such a serene experience, and we all agreed that we would love to return for another adventure!

2 nights at Blooming Bus Farms

Perfect warm bungalow for a family of 4! Melissa was quick to respond to any request. Stars were beautiful at night and the site had everything we needed for a couple days unplugged. It got VERY cold at night so another space heater would be nice for winter camping. Heated blankets were incredibly warm and comfortable…kids loved them! Definitely want to come back in the summer to see the blooming bus! Wonderful stay and first winter “glamping” experience with the kids!

This trip was absolutely lovely. The hosts were very kind, and I loved getting to hang out with the alpacas and dogs. There's just enough trees and brush to make the trip feel decently secluded, but it's close enough to two towns to make groceries, antiquing, and errands easy. There's also some lakes to visit in summer. We went at the end of winter with our cat, and we can't wait to return when all the flowers and leaves are out.

If you're looking for a unique glamping experience then this is the place for you! We had so much fun! The night we stayed it rained all night and we enjoyed listening to the rain on the roof. Provision farms was welcoming and a neat place to explore. We will definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to DaltonTraders Base Camp-Grand Cabin

A wonderful stay enjoyed by us and our two dogs. A rare warm weekend in March, so the cabin stayed cozy with ambient temperature. Very quiet surroundings, comfortable and easy to enjoy a campfire outdoors, a nice food prep area indoors. Definitely the most immaculate, comfortable outhouse port-a-john I've ever seen! Camp is a short drive to hike in Muskegon State Park and visit downtown. Ed's a very thoughtful and friendly host!

Weekend Trip to DaltonTraders Base Camp-Grand Cabin

We loved our stay at Dalton Traders Grand Cabin. Peaceful and quiet. Weather was unseasonably warm so we did not need the woodstove. Had some lovely rain showers overnight which made the cabin even more cozy. Very private with the cleanest porta potty I've ever seen. Ed was responsive and very welcoming. Cabin was clean and well organized. Close to downtown Muskegon and the state park where we found some excellent hiking opportunities. We will definitely be back next winter for some snow sports!

Learn more about this land: Our little slice of heaven is nestled back off the country road- with over 30 acres, we have a couple of old horse pastures and barns, a beautiful grassy area that has a large fire pit and a natural pond. Some wood is provided for your initial fire; more can be purchased from us for $5 per bundle. We have basic electricity, a country swing, a dock if you would like to fish- we also have nice grassy walking paths and a wooded area as well. Our land is very peaceful and safe. The perfect space to unplug and unwind and to recharge yourself. While we do only consider our space one site, it is large enough for groups as big as 30 ppl, with plenty of room to set up tents in your desired areas. Campers and trailers are welcome, with limited size requirements and space; we also restrict where they can be parked. We are very close to several rivers in the area, so bring your kayaks, or inner tubes and float down the rivers for a peaceful afternoon. We’re not too far from Lake Michigan (easy day trip), Kalamazoo or Lansing, Several breweries in the area- (Battle Creek, Kalamazoo and Marshall) as well as a casino (Marshall). Mulln-Heim Vineyards

This is a 3rd generation "Family Farm" of a different sort I suppose. Seems there's a bit of everything here, and arguably not enough of anything. At least for conventional farming. So we've learned to do things a bit differently.Our main crop is wine and juice grapes since our topography, climate, and soil type makes it a premier location for that. But with 30+ acres of forested hillsides, low ground, and natural areas we've evolved into a mixed farm and forest enterprise. Our goal is to utilize the productivity of all our property while still retaining the basic character and usefulness of the wild areas. Letting each thing be what it wants to be and does best on it's own. Flow, not force.So our year starts early with tapping maple trees and making maple syrup. Plus there's grape trimming about this time as well. When the forest floor starts to green up a bit later, we start digging Ramps, or Wild Leeks in the woods. Most of these will go to the more trendy Chicago restaurants, but we also have some local sales. Next comes inoculating winter-cut logs with Shiitake spawn for next years mushroom production. This year we also conducted a few hands-on workshop seminars on mushroom growing as well. Then it's on to our raised bed herb & veggie gardens. (Fresh herbs are just so much fun to cook with!) We grow enough for our own yearly use, as well as some for direct sales. Summer keeps us busy tending all the different crops here and trying to keep up. But there's that steady progression of fresh veggies to eat. Yum !!! Fall brings our annual Grape U-Pick in September and October. And we try to time related crops like mums, pumpkins, and gourds for this same time frame. Makes the place a bit more interesting. Late fall is when we bring in firewood to heat the house and workshop. Stacks of wood everywhere. Hopefully before the 1st snow. In winter it's time to fire up the woodworking shop and be a bit creative. Build furniture, equipment maintenance, who knows what next years projects will include. I like to keep everybody guessing.So, that's what goes on here. You're welcome to check it out, lend a hand, relax back at camp, walk the vineyards and/or forest, or just breathe and relax. That's up to you. But I would recommend visiting a few of the fine local wineries. Seems there's a festival going on at one or another of them just about every weekend. Good music, good wine, good times. And there's the Lake Michigan beaches a few miles down the road.Yeah, this is a pretty casual place here, love meeting new people, very open to civil discussions of all sorts.However, rude, ill mannered people will probably enjoy staying elsewhere. It has been remodeled with a second story added. Pine trees were planted to prevent erosion in the 1960's. The national park began buying land near us in the 1970's and the boundary line to the park is a half-mile from Moonshadow Camp. The area is surrounded by state forests and many hiking and biking trails. Our valley is known for incredible stargazing. Amenities include full access to the Camp kitchen and dining area. You will also have access to a Portable restroom and hand washing station which is located by our BIG BARN. Hot Showers, no problem, you can enjoy a secluded private shower in our shower house which has indoor and outdoor showers. Nearby is Lake Michigan and Esch Rd beach. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lake shore is nearby and The National Park is famous for attractions , trails, and hiking. And just under an hour from Grand Rapids. About half of the 20 acres is wooded, which is where three of our camp sites are located. Each one has a fire ring and wooden picnic table. One site, capable of taking a mid sized RV / Fifth Wheel, is located on the front of the property with easy access from the road. It backs up to some trails and and brush / wood area and has a corn field to the right. So, even though on the front on the property, you have a feeling of privacy. It too has a fire pit and wooden picnic table. Three camp sites are located in the pasture. One is at the bottom of the pasture and quite open. It can accommodate larger groups with multiple tents. A more secluded half open and half in light woods., and is located at the top of the pasture. Then another in the middle of the pasture, one for sun lovers and one for those who prefer more shade. For those who prefer more seclusion, we have cleared three sites in the woods. All sites have a fire ring, or metal fire pit, and wooden picnic table. Some have fire wood boxes (we’re working on making a box for all sites). We have an outdoor propane shower that provides both hot and cold water. This is free. A coffee bar is on the back deck. Coffee is brewing around 7am. We also provide hot water, teas, hot chocolate and cider. Feeling a little peckish before breakfast, or after dinner? Help yourself to a snack. This is all free, though small donations are welcomed. Our goats, poultry, pigs, and dogs and produce take up about an acre and a half. Then the rest is open space. You are welcome to collect eggs for breakfast and fresh produce from our gardens (additional fee). Use the BBQ or smoker. And even join in on farm chores if you are so inclined. One Grand Place - Riverside Retreat

Welcome to our little slice of heaven along the Grand River in Grand Haven, Michigan. Voted one of the best places to visit in 2022 and 2023. This property is at the end of a private road and has three adjoining waterfront parcels that have been in the family for decades that we fondly refer to as One Grand Place. Family still lives on one of the parcels but we are excited to be sharing the other 2 parcels with all of you. One parcel is our Premium RV site on a cement pad, parallel to the river and can accommodate 1 RV (5th wheel, travel trailer, pop up, Class C etc. NO Class A's allowed). 30/50/standard 110 Electric and water hookup. Pump out is available for a fee. The other adjacent parcel at the very far west end of the property is a large grassy area with 2 sites. Both have 30 and standard 110 electric, plus water. --1 Standard RV site can accommodate 1 RV (5th wheel, travel trailer, pop up, Class C etc. NO Class A's allowed). Or, can be used as a tent site IF the tent only site is already booked. Pump out is available for a fee. --1 Tent only site. To be booked first before the Standard RV site. However, both sites are next to each other with same view. There is plenty of room to set up games, fish, play with the kids or the dogs, etc. What's not to like? It is your very own exclusive home away from home. If you don't have an RV or a tent and want to still come and visit, no problem. Rent one of our RVs or rent our tent. PLEASE NOTE: We are not a commercial campground or a business. However, there are certain rules that must be adhered to per the agreement with our local township and our neighbors along our shared private road. Property is adjacent to Connor Bayou County Park and is surrounded by natural wetlands. Perfect place to unwind, chill, enjoy the fresh air and picture perfect sunsets. Boating, swimming, jet skis, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing are just a few of the things to enjoy on the water. Bring your own boat, jet ski, kayak or rent from nearby establishments. One of many public boat launches is just a couple minute ride and Connor Bayou County Park has a kayak specific boat launch. You can also drop a kayak in at the very west end of our property right from shore. If you are bringing your own boat, jet ski, kayak and have a separate trailer, parking of that trailer must be pre-authorized due to limited space. Please inquire. Hiking, biking and wildlife, bird/eagle watching are also in the area. Spring Lake, Lake Michigan, beaches, various state/county parks, downtown Grand Haven's shops and restaurants are just a short drive away. Holland is about 30 minutes south and also has a cute downtown, craft beers, and beaches. PJ Hoffmaster State Park is 20 minutes North. If you are a thrill seeker Michigan's Adventure Amusement and Waterpark is only 30 minutes North in Muskegon. There are also many wineries, ciders and craft beer in Southwest Michigan. And many blueberry farms around too. Bottom line....there is plenty of things to do and see during your visit. You can be as active or as chill as you want to be.

Our goal is to utilize the productivity of all our property while still retaining the basic character and usefulness of the wild areas. Letting each thing be what it wants to be and does best on it's own. Flow, not force.So our year starts early with tapping maple trees and making maple syrup. Plus there's grape trimming about this time as well. When the forest floor starts to green up a bit later, we start digging Ramps, or Wild Leeks in the woods. Most of these will go to the more trendy Chicago restaurants, but we also have some local sales. Next comes inoculating winter-cut logs with Shiitake spawn for next years mushroom production. This year we also conducted a few hands-on workshop seminars on mushroom growing as well. Then it's on to our raised bed herb & veggie gardens. (Fresh herbs are just so much fun to cook with!) We grow enough for our own yearly use, as well as some for direct sales. Summer keeps us busy tending all the different crops here and trying to keep up. But there's that steady progression of fresh veggies to eat. Yum !!! Fall brings our annual Grape U-Pick in September and October. And we try to time related crops like mums, pumpkins, and gourds for this same time frame. Makes the place a bit more interesting. Late fall is when we bring in firewood to heat the house and workshop. Stacks of wood everywhere. Hopefully before the 1st snow. In winter it's time to fire up the woodworking shop and be a bit creative. Build furniture, equipment maintenance, who knows what next years projects will include. I like to keep everybody guessing.So, that's what goes on here. You're welcome to check it out, lend a hand, relax back at camp, walk the vineyards and/or forest, or just breathe and relax. That's up to you. But I would recommend visiting a few of the fine local wineries. Seems there's a festival going on at one or another of them just about every weekend. Good music, good wine, good times. And there's the Lake Michigan beaches a few miles down the road.Yeah, this is a pretty casual place here, love meeting new people, very open to civil discussions of all sorts.However, rude, ill mannered people will probably enjoy staying elsewhere. One Grand Place - Riverside Retreat

Boating, swimming, jet skis, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing are just a few of the things to enjoy on the water. Bring your own boat, jet ski, kayak or rent from nearby establishments. One of many public boat launches is just a couple minute ride and Connor Bayou County Park has a kayak specific boat launch. You can also drop a kayak in at the very west end of our property right from shore. If you are bringing your own boat, jet ski, kayak and have a separate trailer, parking of that trailer must be pre-authorized due to limited space. Please inquire. Hiking, biking and wildlife, bird/eagle watching are also in the area. Spring Lake, Lake Michigan, beaches, various state/county parks, downtown Grand Haven's shops and restaurants are just a short drive away. Holland is about 30 minutes south and also has a cute downtown, craft beers, and beaches. PJ Hoffmaster State Park is 20 minutes North. If you are a thrill seeker Michigan's Adventure Amusement and Waterpark is only 30 minutes North in Muskegon. There are also many wineries, ciders and craft beer in Southwest Michigan. And many blueberry farms around too. Bottom line....there is plenty of things to do and see during your visit. You can be as active or as chill as you want to be.

The property is shared by (2) full-hook up RV sites and a cabin. The property is at mile market 13 of the Kal-Haven Trail - the midpoint. The Kal-Haven Trail is a biking, cross-country skiing, walking, running, snowmobiling - you name it, the trail that goes 34 miles from Kalamazoo to South Haven. Literally steps from the property and you are on the trail. But you may not need to leave the property, with 6.3 acres of woods and field, with trail cut through PLUS the added public lands butted up to Tincan's property line, giving almost 20 acres to roam. Each RV site - far enough apart to be separate, close enough if you and friends/family want to camp together, has a fire pit and fireplace. Each RV site offers water, 30|50AMP electrical and septic. Bear Lake Meets da Yellow Dog

Your host property is 13 acres between the Yellow Dog River, and Bear Lake, with frontage on both. The Yellow Dog River is a legendary trout stream, and many artists have found that the river satisfies their need for the wild. There are two cabin sites available, One overlooking Bear Lake with sunset views, and the other a cabing that was moved to the property in 1999 to preserve it. Both sites share amenities such as the outhouse, communal fire pit and water, but the cabins are not in close proximity so everyone has their privacy. They are both rustic cabins having no running water, or electricity. A futon with mattress cover is provided in each cabin along with a table and chairs. See the individual site descriptions for more details. We are 20 miles (app) north of Marquette, which is my home town. It is a destination for bikers, skiiers, and outdoor rec folk! There are so many things to see and do in Marquette, so make sure to plan enough time to check out the town! Also, just six miles to our north is historic Big Bay. A lumber town back in the day, it is full of history. Check out the Thunder Bay Inn, where parts of Anatomy of a Murder, starring Jimmy Stewart and Lee Remick were filmed. Don't miss going to the Lumberjack to see where the actual murder took place, either! You will find good eats and perhaps even some live music at either establishment. You'll also find everything you need in the way of groceries, and gas at Cram's General Store, where there's also a laundromat. Burns landing just north of the marina has the historic Burns family home renovated in a park setting, and a public beach access to mighty Lake Superior. This park has picnic tables and grills, and even a handicap accessible outhouse and trail to the lake. Yellow Dog falls is a short drive on Co. Road 510, and on the way be sure to climb Thomas Rock overlook. There are new bike trails if you're into that as well! Stay awhile. You'll be glad you did! We strive to offer peace and serenity to our guests, and love to share these woods with those needing tranquility and respite from a busy world. In this sensitive environmental area, we have only two sites to keep traffic down, enhance our visitors experience, and to protect the wildlife here. Unplug with us, eh!

Northern Lower Peninsula

Bordered by Lake Michigan to the West and Lake Huron to the east, the northern Lower Peninsula has the highest concentration of Michigan state parks. Miles of mountain biking, horseback riding, and hiking trails await in the Huron National Forest, where you can choose from modern campgrounds or backcountry camping. Along the coast, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is a must-see, Wilderness State Park is a dark sky reserve, and Ludington State Park Beach is a family favorite.

Southwest Michigan

Grand Rapids is the gateway to Michigan’s southwest, where the shore of Lake Michigan provides plenty of options for a summer camping trip. Lakefront cities such as South Haven, Benton Harbor, and Holland have sandy beaches, historic lighthouses, and seafront campgrounds. Forget tent camping in the wilderness—RV sites come equipped with full hookups, playgrounds, and watercraft rentals.

Southeast Michigan

Michigan's "Thumb" juts out along the west shore of Lake Huron, where Sleeper State Park and Port Crescent State Park are the big draws for campers. Below this, the west coast is ideal for a road trip, peppered with shipwreck dive sites, secluded beaches, and golf courses. South of Detroit and Lake St. Clair, Sterling State Park is the only state park on the shore of Lake Erie, with a mix of RV and tent sites by the beach.
