Belle Creek Bluff is on 28 acres of prime land in Welch. Belle Creek runs through the middle of the property. Walk, swim, paddle, fish and explore the this beautiful spring fed trout stream. There are a number of hiking trails on the property. Bordering state lands to the east of the property provide endless exploration and hiking adventures. Hike to the top of the bluff for a spectacular view of Welch valley and the ski hill. Hiking NE along Belle Creek can you spot the old model A truck along the banks? There are eagles, falcons, finches, and many colorful birds to see.
This campground offers a serene and private experience, with many visitors enjoying the peacefulness and natural beauty of the area. The presence of a creek adds to the charm, providing opportunities for wading and fishing, though some noted it can be challenging to cross at times. While most reviews highlight the tranquility and scenic quality, a few mentioned the need for better accessibility, especially for those with mobility issues. Overall, it's a space appreciated for its solitude and connection to nature, making it a favorite spot for returning campers.
I really love this place for summer and fall trips. Super private cabin with an outhouse available. Crossing the creek was unique and an experience itself. I will definitely be back next summer with the wife and kids
Overall, we loved the setting — gorgeous fall colors, cabin was nice, price was great! It should be noted that this is *not* an accessible campsite as marked. The creek terrain is rocky and uneven.
What a great place! So private and shady and loved hearing the creek! It’s very close to the cannon valley bike trail so I had a nice time biking into Cannon Falls and having a drink at the winery. I would definitely come back!
If you want a private, beautiful primitive camp site this is the spot for you. Next to a pristine creek where you can fish and swim this spot checked many boxes. Water, privacy, plenty of wood nearby (for purchase), picnic table, and tons of space! There is no outhouse so you will need to setup a portable loo (bring your own, or there are some for rent near the firewood). We saw eagles and a fellow camper caught a brown trout.
