Named for its location in the center of the three tallest peaks in North Carolina, Mount Mitchell, Grandfather Mountain, and Roan Mountain, this cabin is your home base to explore the area’s many ridges, valleys, trails and waterfalls! Just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, with easy driving distance to Linville Falls, Crabtree Falls, and Tom's Creek Falls, this cabin is the perfect getaway for those who enjoy exploring the outdoors. Your hosts are Vikki and John, and we live on the property in a separate house. Our 5 acre homestead has a valley view with a small pond and wildlife. A laundry room for guest use is also available on site in a separate building. Our property is fenced, but dogs must be leashed because we have ducks. Spruce Pine is a charming mountain town on the Toe River in proximity to local experiences like gem mining, river tubing, snow tubing, horseback riding, fly fishing, annual mountain festivals and one of the country's best arts communities. Mount Mitchell (elevation 6,884 feet) is the highest peak east of the Mississippi. You can take the trail to the observation deck for a 360 panoramic view! Numerous trails for all levels of hikers, and bird watchers have recorded over 91 species in the park! Grandfather Mountain (elevation 5,946 feet) is one of the highest peaks in the Blue Ridge Mountain range, offering rugged terrain and breathtaking vistas. Grandfather is a nationally recognized nature preserve and home to the Mile High Swinging Bridge. Roan Mountain (elevation 6,286 feet) boasts the world's largest naturally growing rhododendron garden with over 600 acres of blooming catawba rhododendron! Be sure to reserve a stay with us in June for the annual bloom and the NC Rhododendron Festival! While visiting Roan Mountain, you can also take in a hike on the Appalachian Trail and the Roan Highlands, plus view flora found no where else in the world, like the beautiful and rare Gray's Lily.One-bedroom cabin with queen bed, full kitchen, living area, AC/heat, WiFi, TV, and bathroom with hot shower and indoor composting toilet (flushes without water). Bedding, towels, and dishes provided. Outdoor amenities include fire pit, picnic table, porch, and hammock. Just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, feel free to wander our 5 acre property and visit the small pond in the back. Please ensure pets are leashed as we have ducks. The hosts also live on the property in a separate house.

Vikki's place is fantastic. The location is wonderful. So beautiful. The cabin is set up great. They have a FULL kitchen. We made most of our meals. The driveway wants bad at all. We were able to navigate it in our sedan without issue.

Really pretty area, be sure to check out Little Switzerland. Tiny house was lovely. Soft cozy bed, nice bath towels. AC was on & ice maker was full. Felt very welcoming. Dog had to stay leashed but lots of room to walk about.

Had a wonderful using the cabin and lands as a basecamp for hiking. Well furnished cabin with plenty of supplies for anything cooking or fire related, the copies of maps on the fridge was a very nice touch. The property is well maintained and very charming, a barn with a large troupe of ducks at the end of the gravel road add to the backwoods demeanor and make for a relaxing early morning atmosphere. Owners were most accommodating and would whole-heartedly recommend them again!

Relax and Unwind
Our stay at Three Peaks Basecamp was peaceful and relaxing. My husband and I lodged in the cabin on the property. It was meticulously cleaned, well-furnished, and stocked with everything we could possibly want for a tranquil stay. The hosts did an amazing job at making this cabin feel like a true home away from home-- even stocking the fridge and pantry with some unexpected treats and baking essentials. We felt so well taken care of. The deck adjoined to the cabin and the outdoor space was perfect for relaxing and al fresco dining. We enjoyed watching the ducks ambling near the farm, watching the clouds float lazily float by, and taking deep breaths of the sweet mountain air. Linville wilderness is a short, scenic drive away. If in the area, it’s a beautiful spot to visit. There are so many picturesque hiking spots, and natural activities nearby. You can’t go wrong in this area; You’re sure to see something beautiful. Thank you for sharing your calm corner of pure country with us! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Three Peaks Basecamp, and deeply appreciate your genuine hospitality.

Delightful stay!
It was an amazing little cabin. The host did an amazing job preparing it and even stocked it with some delightful breakfast foods. That was a nice surprise. I enjoyed the campfire and the basket of s’mores fixings. A beautiful state in the middle of everything. A hot shower in the extremely comfortable bed. I would highly recommend.
