SAMS TOWN is a one-of-a-kind, rustic hangout and pit stop put together by Samuel Hagen, an artist and landscape photographer. He used all sorts of reclaimed materials and rescued nostalgic artifacts that give it a unique vibe, celebrating the good ol' days and a desire to reignite community spirit. Right on Old Route 66, in Erick, OK, this spot mixes up some classic Americana feels with a chill roadside rest or an overnight stay. If you're on the road and want a stop that's anything but ordinary, this is it! Come visit or stay at one of our campsites or one of our unique accommodations: We welcome: Bicycles: Individual or groups, Walkers, Runners, Hikers, RVs, Motorcycles, well... we welcome everyone! Campers: looking to pitch a tent or rent a rustic cabin (some have more amenities than others). Hunters: Looking for a low-key place to chill out after a long day Travelers: Anyone looking for a unique place to stay halfway between Oklahoma City and Amarillo Texas Anyone needing a rest stop, come sit a spell, or stay awhile. Pets are welcome as long as they are kept on a leash while outside and cleaned up after.

Sam's Town is the reason to Hipcamp
What a treasure that I never would've found otherwise! This is why I like to travel on Hipcamp, for interesting places like Sam's Town and generous people like Sam who are willing to share their projects and homes so folks like me can have a cool and curious place to stay!

Artistic, historic and comfortable space with awesome books, art and artifacts about. Sam had the fire burning and treats waiting for my cats! Charm and he are extremely kind and communicative hosts, can’t wait to go back.

Such a fun spot! Sam had a fire going in the schoolhouse before we arrived so it was very cozy, and he showed us around a bit when we arrived. It’s a unique space with lots of little bits of personal history tucked throughout. The bed was very comfortable and we had everything we needed. We had some trouble getting the water going in the morning, but that didn’t really get in our way and Sam was on his way to work on it shortly after we let him know. We hit the road pretty quickly after we got up since we had a long day of driving ahead. He was gracious and welcoming and keeps a lovely place.

This place is really cool. The entire “Sam’s Town” is built with scraps and pieces found. It’s a rad place to check out. Host was nice and made sure I was warm and comfortable. He provided some extra firewood and had one started for me. Bathroom and shower was nice to have. Totally would come back again.

Sam's town is so, so cool! So much interesting work he's put into creating a little getaway. He is also a totally kind and gentle. Loved having coffee with him in the morning and chatting. I would absolutely stay there again.

Traveling cross-country with a small teardrop camper, we needed a safe place to stop for the night. Sam’s Town had a place to park our camper. As advertised, there no hookups but we did not need them. There was a clean bathroom, shower, and washing machine available for our use. There were tent campsite available on the grounds in a very unique setting constructed by Sam. It would be a great overnight stopover for bike packers. Sam was a delightful host - very communicative and welcoming.
