Ups and Downs offers a peaceful and expansive camping experience, with the highlight being its serene lagoon and friendly farm animals. Karen and Gary, the hosts, are repeatedly praised for their welcoming nature and helpfulness. While the location provides a tranquil escape with abundant wildlife, some reviews mention the presence of mosquitoes and the need to access the site through a farm gate. Overall, it's a great spot for those looking to unwind close to nature while still being within reach of Mackay.

How's the serenity?
6 m pop-up camper
We spent one night at Ups and Downs. Karen and Gary met us at the gate and showed us the options for sites (options are endless!). It was quiet, pretty and (as we were the only ones there) private. A glorious afternoon and evening!

Karen was so welcoming and met us personally to welcome us and show us our options for setting up camp next to the lovely lagoon. We had daily visits from the friendly cows and the site was so quiet apart from the lovely birdsong. Easy drive to Mackay with couple of pubs a short drive away.
