First off, I must tell you what Randy (host) did for us before we arrive. There had been a great deal of rain in the area before our arrival and more on the way during our two-night stay. Randy was concerned about Dry Camp 1 being too muddy for us. He offered to put us in RV2 during our stay for no extra charge. I accepted and thanked him for having our well being in mind.
The Ole Place is beautiful with a pond and very secluded. You will enjoy quiet nights there with wonderful views of the night sky. We were the only campers there mid-week in February. The site was gravel and very level. He even had some split wood out for a camp fire. It was a great base for us to explore areas around the Greater Chattanooga area such as Fall Creek Falls State Park and Ruby Falls.
The road, Kelly Creek Road, going to The Olde Place is paved but with many potholes. So take is slow. It won't add any time to your trip. You may even see herds of deer and turkeys like we did.
While we didn't meet the host directly, we appreciated his hospitality and kindness. We would recommend this place to anyone.
