Located on the scenic Hazel River, River Hills is 70 acres of private family property. The owners are dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of the land and the Hazel River. This land has been in the family for over 200 years. The owners live on the property. Nestled within the embrace of nature’s tranquility lies a secluded camping site on private property, where serenity reigns supreme. Surrounded by lush greenery and towering trees, this hidden gem offers a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of urban life. The gentle melody of the nearby river serves as a soothing soundtrack to the outdoor adventure that awaits. Campers can pitch their tents on soft, grassy patches beneath the sprawling canopy of stars, finding solace in the symphony of crickets and rustling leaves. As dawn breaks, the golden rays of sunlight filter through the foliage, illuminating the picturesque landscape and inviting explorers to embark on nature trails and riverside strolls, forging unforgettable memories amidst the untamed beauty of the wilderness. Those who visit River Hills are awed by the beauty and serenity. There are wide open fields and miles of well-maintained trails in the woods. In a time where open land is disappearing, we are determined to keep our land as natural as possible and to have it remain in the family. This is not an inexpensive task. All proceeds are used to maintain and improve River Hills.

Hoof Ramp on the Hazel River
Awesome for families
Awesome site (though I hate to admit that and draw competition to reserve haha). Very nice hosts - very communicative and helpful. We were met at the entrance to the property and escorted to our site which was super convenient and appreciated. The entire property is just beautiful and camp grounds/trails are well maintained. We cannot wait to return!

Great trip with the family!
This was a perfect little spot to bring the family for a camping trip! Nice access to the river to have a dip and let the kids play, awesome communal area with table, grill, fire pit. The sites are spread out enough to have privacy. Very pretty location overall. Would highly recommend!

Perfect for riverside car camping
Beautiful campsite right by the river, and the perfect place to car camp. Very convenient restroom with sink, nearby too. Peggy was very helpful and quick to respond to all the questions I had. Her son even delivered firewood to the campsite after the sun went down when we asked if they had any. Would definitely recommend. My only tip would be to bring a strong tick repellant. While I didn’t find any on myself (I used picardin bug lotion on my legs), my boyfriend found 4 on his legs, and five on our dog. Otherwise our stay was incredibly peaceful and the perfect place to share our first car camping experience together. The water was too shallow for fishing, but it was nice to get in and cool off with my dog, and the neighboring campers brought their canoes. Will have to try that next time. Thank you Peggy!

Camping at River Hills
Large Campground
We really picked a great weekend to go camping. The weather was amazing and the campground was really nice. We booked the site that could accommodate a large group for my husband's bday. It had a really nice pavilion area with a table and right by the beautiful flowing river. Flushing toilet was nearby, but if we wanted to shower we drove up to the barn to use the outside shower along with collecting fresh water from the water spigot there. Campground also had plenty of shade under trees to set up your tents. Peggy, the host, was very nice and answered her texts quickly. When our trash can got full, all we had to do was text Peggy, and she would send someone out to pick up the trash. Overall, I would recommend this site.
