Once known as Skyedanser Farms, horse ranch turned campsite. Five acres of land located “on the hill.” For several generations hay, gardens, and livestock have been raised on this land. Our campsite is primitive & hosts a picnic table, fire pit, and a grill. Our site is located to the right of our gravel driveway at the end of the field. You'll see a sign for the campsite, walk approx 600ft to enter the site. You must camp at our campsite. There are many other landowners surrounding our property. We are not responsible if you camp on someone else's land.Picturesque campsite nestled in the backwoods of West Virginia. Enjoy a night under the stars and s'mores by the campfire. Fall in love with our mountain hideaway less than two hours from New River Gorge. Many hiking trails and biking trails nearby as well as fishing. Approximately 45 minutes from Charleston.

This site has great potential so hopefully the hosts can put in a bit of work to get it there. My partner and I stayed here with our 2 dogs on a roadtrip. We really appreciated the free firewood/ fire starters and the great views of the stars. Visually the site feels quite private. A deer even visited our campsite in the morning. The onsite host was kind and his dog was very chill. The Tudor’s Biscuit World nearby was incredible. The walk from the parking area to the campsite is around 500 feet and would be difficult to navigate for those with mobility issues. On a Saturday night in July, there was no peace and quiet. It was not in the host’s control at all but important to be aware for those traveling with noise sensitive companions. Nearby there were gun shots before dark and then fireworks lit off for a while after that. We also heard neighbors talking, motorbikes, and dogs barking until at least 1 am. It sounded like the camp site host’s lawn mower was broken so they had to use a weed wacker which was really unfortunate. The cleared area was dead/ crunchy and hurt my dogs paws to walk on it. The cut vegetation had them itching non stop. We REALLY wished there was a dedicated cleared and leveled tent site. Any level areas were in tall grass or deep ruts. And the tall grass had poison ivy/ obviously the risk of ticks and snakes. After moving our tent several times in the middle of the night, we never found a spot we weren’t sliding both head to toe and side to side.

Peace and quiet. They have a box on a bench that has paper and even a lighter to help start a fire.

This was a cute spot nestled into the mountain. Our hosts Skye & Jimmie were very helpful and accommodating, and their canine greeting party (Scout) was an added bonus 🐶 It was a little overgrown which made using the amenities a little difficult, and added to the bug population so could definitely use a mow/weed-whacking! All things considered, lovely location and the sunset was pretty.

Great stay!

The hosts are very responsive and helpful. The location is easy to find, yet secluded. If you don’t have 4x4, it’s just a short walk to the camping area that is equipped with a fire pit, picnic table and charcoal grill.
