At Hoffmaster Modern Campground you can still have some of the comforts of home—like modern bathrooms and electricity.
It’s worth every footstep you take away from the real world and then some. And hey, we all have our own ideas of what having a good time means, but if yours involves alcohol, note that it’s not allowed from May 15 until September 15. It’s cool, it’s cool—getting drunk on fresh air is much more satisfying anyway.
Stayed here memorial day weekend with my husband and 2 dogs. It was very easy to book online, very affordable. It was a crowded weekend, but the campsites are so big that we fit our Subaru outback, the tent, there was a picnic table provided and we still had room for another car (at no extra charge). even tho it was crowded, it didn't feel like we were all on top of each other.
Modern flush able toilets and showers were nearby and very clean and well maintained.
There is a trail from the campsite straight to the beach. On the Day side part of the park there are more trails and access to lake Michigan.
I would recommend it because its not a bad experience, its just more for families or people wanting a quieter camping experience.
