Honestly, just starting out with camp hosting, but we have lives in Maine and Camped back country and campgrounds my entire life. Looking to make it like the back country but with gathering areas like Giant fire pit and on some weekends nights live music. Directly across the road and through one of the oldest Cemeteries in the area, nice salt water beach area and place to launch kayaks. Our property is a historical peace of property, across the Bay from BarHarbor Maine and Miles of Trails and Hiking areas minutes away. We also often have lobster feeds so if your interested just let us know!
The area was very beautiful and quiet. We were given multiple options of campsites when we got there. We were immediately greeted and showed to our site. Composting toilet was nice and convenient. Communication was quick and Dereck was very friendly.
Staying at Dereck's was great! Super easy to find, park at the front, and a really short walk to the nicely cleared out woods behind his place. There's another site further back which would give more privacy and quiet. We loved the chickens and cats and dog. We also opted for a dozen fresh eggs and a couple bundles of firewood for the firepit. Super convenient and the eggs were delicious! Dereck was incredibly helpful and responded immediately to the multiple messages we had back and forth prior to arrival. Such an easy and nice experience!
This place is great!! Such a beautiful layout… nicely lit, great people, and an awesome outdoor shower. I would recommend for anyone looking for somewhere chill to camp for the night!
Amazing little compound with the most gracious and friendly host. We showed up wet and with a broken tent and the host set up his extra tent for us and a roaring fire
