The owner, Lindsay, is frequently praised for his friendliness and attentiveness, making sure guests are comfortable and have what they need. Many reviews highlight the site's proximity to the river, offering activities like kayaking and fishing, and the fresh farm produce such as bacon and eggs is a hit among campers. Who expects a cyclone?
9 ft pop-up camper · With pets ·
I decided to "go bush" for 3 weeks and have a bit of a mental and physical health reset. My criteria? 1. Had to be on a river, wanted a bit of fishing. Tick. 2. Needed to be pet/Labrador friendly. Tick. 3. Private camp site. Tick. (I could have run a one man nudist camp.) 4. Toilet. Can be hired for my site, tick. 5. Telstra coverage, just in case. Tick. I asked the old man to tow me out there, 2 hours from home, because he has a 4WD and I had hired a lovely little teardrop camper van. We were met on site by Lindsay, who loaded me up with eggs and bacon (you can order things like a meat tray etc when you book,) and he drove us to site to set up. Tick. I forgot my fishing gear but was that an issue? Nope, Lindsay dropped me down a rod and a yabbie net! No charge. A few days pass. A stiff breeze builds. The news comes in that everyone needs to batten down the hatches for cyclone Alfred. Lindsay cancels all other sites, but given I have no car he offers to tow me to higher ground and I ultimately end up IN THE HAY SHED. It was sheltered, dry and very cozy. Quite a nice way to spend the remainder of my time there. In preparation for the weather event, Lindsay also offered to take me into town to restock on food, which I gratefully accepted. In short - the sort of bloke who loves a chat and will do anything for anyone. Genuinely kind bloke. My biggest regret was not getting some more of his bacon to take home with me - miles better than the supermarkets. 10/10

Lovely quiet camp, had it all to ourselves. Lindsay was very welcoming. The entrance was a bit of a let down, untidy first impressions count.

Warrego Farms by the River
Lovely spot! Easy access to the Condamine River with plenty of room—it felt like we had the place to ourselves. We tried our luck fishing and had a great time just relaxing by the water. Lindsay, the owner, was so friendly and went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Free kayaks to use on the river were a great bonus, plus there were rubbish bins and a dump point onsite. You have to try the local fresh eggs, smoky bacon, and honey—Lindsay sources them from nearby farms, and they were absolutely delicious! We had an awesome weekend by the river and would definitely come back.

Nice location, just out of town but not too far either. Would recommend it to others. Wish their was an option to pay for a site vs per person.

Awesome camping spot, my family loved it. We can’t ask for more… peaceful place, beautiful sunset, sunrise, stars gazing, big spots just for you + free Kayaking, fishing. A must try smoked Bacon + eggs. The owner Lindsay was very friendly guy, he check every day if you are okay, or if you need something. Well maintained spots. 10/10.
