Deepdene Farmstay is a beautiful rural property with a fabulous view! We have a number of unpowered camp sites located approximately 5 minutes drive from Augusta, which offers a number of tourist attractions and great fishing spots. We are also located a short 800m from Jewel Cave, which is a very popular tourist attraction and café.
Our campsites overlook paddocks of cows and horses, with a lovely breeze and a number of large trees to offer shade in the summer, while being protected from the harsh winds in winter.
If you are pretty much self contained and would like to camp out away from the hustle and bustle, in a tranquil and peaceful setting...then this is for you. However, if you like life's luxuries, then this won't be your cup of tea. One of the reviews said nice but a bit wild, I think they must be used to caravan parks or something.
We try our best to fit in with the environment, so we have a couple of compost toilets and solar showers (for private not public use, for more info on this, please enquire ) and compost and recycling bins to try and do our bit.
Dogs are permitted but this is a working farm with livestock so uncontrolled dogs chasing wildlife or stock which cant be controlled will be dealt with as needed including euthanised. Loved the outdoor shower!!
Was a really nice experience overall! Justin came to check on us both days which was really kind of him! And it is very clean and just the perfect location to go to the attractions nearby!

Nice site, open and spacious. There is supposed to be a noise restriction implemented as written on the sign however, campsite attracted very noisy campers. They were coming and going up until 1am in the morning and ruined the experience for me. Owner was lovely and hospitable however, I would not stay again due to the type of campers it attracted - had no care for anyone else then they woke up at 6am making much noise to pack up.

Bacis bush camp, with drop dunnies, gas hot shower and a bush kitchen.
The site is on a mild slope, it is a bit of a sand and dust pit at the moment. Would be nice in winter with some grass. A few large peppermint trees provide some shade.

Beautiful and simple farm stay
Tent
We loved staying at Deepdene, it was exactly what we needed! It is a very relaxed vibe and Justin is friendly and welcoming. For a long weekend, it wasn’t even too busy and there was plenty of space around us. The facilities aren’t fancy (composting toilet, solar shower) but added to the beauty and quirkiness of the place, and was all we needed. There is also a camp kitchen which we didn’t use other than to wash dishes, but it looked like there were plenty of options for those needing kitchen facilities. Thanks so much for having us stay, will definitely be back!
