Welcome to Sunset Bay Meadows! We have several tent/RV sites, a yurt, and one group camping site. Once a dairy farm and part of the old Simpson estate our property offers mushroom picking seasonally whey you may find Chanterelle & Hedgehog mushrooms. We're close to the beach and the Sunset Bay Golf Course is on the same property. Lots of hiking trails and you can connect with Sunset Bay State Park our neighbor. We have a private, secluded campground that is wind sheltered with approximately 20 acres of space in which to use our covered table, picnic tables, fire pit, fire rings at individual campsites, BBQ, sauna and outdoor propane-fired shower. The camp area is tucked away among large spruce trees and open meadows which lead to endless trails on the property, with the option to buy a round of golf at Sunset Bay Golf Course, which is right next door to the camp area. We’re just short of a mile from Sunset Bay, where you will find kayaking, fishing and a great spot for kids. The Whiskey Run mountain bike trails are a short drive away and are truly world-class trails. The Sunset Bay State Park has a huge trail network that spans the cliff line all the way from Sunset Bay to Cape Arago. Chuck’s Seafood in Charleston is a great spot to pick up local seafood. BBQ some oysters on the grill or pick up some fresh fish and enjoy the bounty of the coast. Charleston, just 3.5 miles away, also has some great restaurants and local shops to truly make your stay memorable. Only friendly dogs allowed and leashed or under voice command.

Royal Heart Hill

*Please read FULL site description and rules before booking so you know what to expect and what is expected of you!* 'Royal Heart Hill' is at the very end of a Dead-End road, which means no sound or light pollution from passing cars or nearby residences. Surrounded by BLM and Timber properties, while being 6 miles from downtown Cottage Grove and 30 miles from downtown Eugene. All guests have access to the outdoor shower, which is located by the green Dome. Please use biodegradable soap in the shower! Potable water spigots are located by the carport and at the top of the steps leading down to our platform site. Each site has its own composting toilet, fire-pit and electrical outlet. Nearby access to: two lakes for swimming and fishing, waterfalls and cliff-jumping, hiking and biking trails, dining, wineries, breweries, shopping and more. I am happy to offer suggestions and share what I know- please ask! UPDATE: The timber acreage that borders our property- to the west and north of Overholser Road- was harvested winter 2024. The property consists of Oak savanna, mixed conifer woodland, camas meadow, undulating hills and a SMALL pond (home to many rough-skinned newts- no swimming or fishing). At our domestead we practice permaculture, native habitat restoration and regenerative forestry. Poison oak is present on the property! I have done my best to clear it from camping areas and trails. Tecnu is provided in the outdoor shower. There is a mile long loop that goes around the whole property, which we keep mowed and accessible. Hipcampers are encouraged to use the loop to explore the property. To access- walk south/downhill toward the pond signs and follow the mowed path through the meadow and back up toward the road, which will take you back to your campsite. I have included a screenshot of the loop as recorded by my Strava app, which is in the property photos. The property hosts a geodesic play-dome and slack-line (during the dry months) up by the green dome/outdoor shower. Guests may play on these at their own risk- the closest hospital is 7 miles away. *Please note- if you do not respect our camp rules your visit will be flagged, hipcamp will be notified and you will be asked to pay 25% of your booking fee for cleanup costs.*

Coastal Farm Sanctuary

Since 2015 we have been steadily regenerating the soils and improving this once completely barren property. We now have diverse plant life on the property which in turns attracts diverse wildlife including insects, birds and reptile. Your stay here helps us to pay the bills and keep making this small patch of earth better. Our property sits on a sunny bench just back from the ocean and just above the fog line. Our south facing location gets ample sunshine most days and is surrounded on 3 sides by a forest of trees. The property is fenced and access is by gate. There are two seperate campsites which are separated by our central garden and bamboo plantings. On most days the maximum number of workers on the farm is two people (your hosts). This is a low traffic area. There is very little street traffic before 9 AM and after 4 PM Mon-Sat. Sundays are quiet. Site 2 aka Freedom Camp is reserved exclusively for tent Both camp sites can use the portable toilet. We keep it clean and odor free for a safe and sanitary camping experience. Bring your bikes, boards and/or other outdoor gear! Many adventures can be had here on the central coast. Your hosts are avid surfers and cyclists and can help direct you to the best spots to match your skill level. Our property is close to town as well as road bike loops, gravel roads and mountain bike trails. We're also close to the beach and that's how we like it. Within 15 - 45 minutes drive surfers of all levels can find something fun to ride nearly everyday of summer and fall. The 18 hole golf course is just down the street from the property and the town of Waldport is only 2 miles away. Yachats is a short 12 minute drive to the south where you can find amazing plant based food and they serve fresh roasted coffee along with a large menu of other drinks and treats at The Green Salmon Cafe. Miles of white sand beaches are located just down the hill from us where you can walk all the way from the mouth of the Alsea river to the mouth of the Yachats river. Forested and easily accessible walking trails are also nearby. South of the property is Cape Perpetua which is a natural wonderland with whales, tide pools, blowholes & includes a 26 mile trail system. Relax and enjoy the scenic 15 mile drive from the farm to get there.

Welcome to the river! This beautiful 10 acre property is located on the scenic main Umpqua River. Enjoy excellent, year-round fishing, kayaking, and swimming right from your private and secluded campsite. Our property is located between 2 boat ramps which makes kayak, canoe, or raft floats a breeze. The property features beautiful, mature trees, fun bedrock to explore, and an amazing swimming hole (in the summertime when the river level is low enough). Sit at the river’s edge and enjoy the sounds of the water. Be sure to watch for soaring Eagles, jumping fish, and the occasional mink on the opposite river's edge! There are multiple wineries nearby and lots of hiking trails within a short drive. There is no cell service at the property - please plan ahead and check local burn ban policies before you go. The "owners area" camping spot is a large, graveled, gated area that has trees between the road and parking. There is a port-a-potty for use in the summer months. There is also a fire pit on the lower level overlooking the river, a hidden tree swing, and deck with picnic table. The "site 1" camping spot has a driveway that is hard-packed grass and is not gated. There is a small fire pit on the path by the river. There are areas under the trees both up top near the road and down near the path that are suitable for tents. PLEASE NOTE: This is not a fully manicured campground. There are bushes and grasses that grow year round. We do our best to keep things trimmed and accessible. Sometimes (especially in the spring) things grow more quickly than we can get to them. Please don't expect this to be a perfectly mowed, backyard-type site.

Our farm is nestled at the end of Honey Grove Valley in the lush coastal mountains. The creek meanders through our seven acre property. The north side contains a field, small orchard, greenhouses and barn. The south side is steep and wooded with healthy riparian. An extension to the Honey Grove trail leads out of the property accessing seven miles of hiking and mountain bike trails. Nearby activities include hiking and mountain biking in Mary's Peak and Alsea Falls recreational area. Fishing access to the Alsea River is located 1.5 miles from the property on Honey Grove Road. The guest cabin has two rooms and can sleep (4) guests comfortably and up to (6) guests. It contains (2) queen size beds, one pull out couch, and an optional futon mattress and a fold out single bed. One bed is in a loft accessed by a ship ladder. There is a small kitchen and attached bathhouse. The toilet is non-flush, composting. From the designated parking area there is a 200 foot walk along a gravel path to the cabin. Other features include a fire pit, sauna, and creek access. Internet is available in the cabin. There is a Level 2 vehicle charger available for guests. The property also contains a host residence. The area around the residence is for the hosts. The cabin and the property are very quaint and inviting but also very rustic. Do not be surprised to see a few spiders and other bugs, the occasional bunny, wild turkeys, Garter Snakes by the ponds and newts on the trails. Please maintain good situational awareness when enjoying the property as structures and grounds may have some inherent hazards. Barn is off limits. Greenhouse and gardens are fine to explore as long as doors and gates are closed and dogs are kept out. Please refrain from harvesting produce and/or eggs unless accompanied or given permission from hosts directly.

Lost Coast Adventure Camp

This magical property is conveniently located 5 miles north of Florence and directly on Hwy 101, approximately 3/4 of a mile from the ocean. This is a large private site that is surrounded by old growth timber and teaming with flora and fauna. Campers are encouraged to explore, but be aware, this property is wild.. and encounters with wildlife are common. Beyond the adventuring that can be done on the property, Baker Beach state park is less than a half a mile away and there is a plethora of trails, parks, and lakes within 10 miles. We do have full time neighbors just to the North, so we ask that you be respectful and cautious with regard to dogs/noise. Hwy 101 can be very dangerous for unsuspecting pets. There are several roadside campfire stations(directly across 101 from camp) offering small bundles for $5-6/night. **Be advised that we are slowly working on the property to eventually create more camping space. There was a lot of dirt/fill brought in over the winter of 2022 and the property may not be as green as years past.** Please be our guests, relax, and enjoy!

Cape Perpetua scenic area is 5 miles away and hosts many great trails. Heceta Head Lighthouse and the world-famous Sea Lion Caves are 18 miles to the south. A small trail system exists on property which you are welcome to explore. Trip Camp backs wooded and forestry lands. Wild black bear and cougar live in this the area. Plan accordingly. We have never had an issue with one of these animals, (we suggest you store food in your car away from your camp area). We generally do not allow fires due to fire risk, but are actively experimenting with options we that might work outside of fire season. Only camp stoves are currently allowed. We are a working and developing homestead. Though the campsites are further back in the forest, upfront (and where you park) you will encounter our greenhouse, home, children's play area. Do not be surprised to see a tractor moving about and handling our ongoing farm operations. If you've got elementary age children, our kiddo is looking forward to saying hello (heck, they want to say hello to everyone, who are we kidding)! More about Trip Camp: Purchased in 2013, building out our property has been a labor of love, and is always a work in progress. We wanted to live somewhere where things move slower and where we can have a more intimate connection with the land. We raise over 30 chickens, garden, and forage the natural abundance of the area, from berries to mushrooms. In our forest, there are deer, coyote, rabbit, bear, skunk, raccoon, squirrels and chipmunks, various owls, bald eagles, weasels, cougar, bobcat, and any other number of critters. The Trip Camp sites sit on the historical Spruce Logging Railway Camps of the early 20th century. During WW1, some conscientious objectors were sent to work camps such as the one here to log the first and second growth spruce trees for the war effort. When they finished the narrow gauge railway system to transport the logs in 1919, the war effort was over and was taken over by private logging concerns.

About

Situated right off Highway 101 on Oregon's Central Coast, just south of Florence and a short drive from the beach, Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial Park has long been a favorite with families big and small. The area features two swimmable freshwater lakes (one with a fishing pier), on-site boat and sand board rentals, hiking and biking trails, and easy access to miles of sand dunes. Jessie M. Honeyman Campground offers some 250 year-round campsites, plus six seasonal group camping areas and 10 yurts.

Tips for snagging a campsite

Book early. Despite Honeyman Campground’s massive size, it can fill up, particularly on summer weekends. You’ll have the most luck securing a spot if you book well in advance. This is particularly important for the 10 yurts.
Campsites at Honeyman can be reserved through Oregon State Parks, either online or over the phone, up to six months in advance. New sites are released every morning at 6am.
Same-day reservations must be made in person at the campground and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

When to go

The state park is open for camping and day use year-round. It’s most popular in July and August when school is out for summer. September is a good month to visit for warm weather and fewer crowds. Campers with ATVs staying in the H Loop can ride directly from their campsite onto the dunes, but only between October and March.

Know before you go

The closest city for supplies and groceries is Florence, a five-minute drive north.
Honeyman Lodge is open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day and offers canoes, kayaks, and pedal boats for rent.
Pets are welcome, provided they remain leashed. One yurt is pet-friendly.
Honeyman Campground has accessible yurts, campsites, showers, and bathrooms, as well as an accessible fishing site.
ATV can’t be ridden in the campground, except during the October to April low season, when riding from the H Loop to the dunes is permitted.

Absolutely massive campground. It’s probably a bit mental in the summer on weekends but middle of the week in the autumn and it’s heaven and you can feel like you have the place to yourself (except for the occasional loud ATV ripping around the dunes). Each of the sites are quite shaded and separated from neighbors so you get nice privacy. Take a walk across the 101 to the lake and trails around there.

One of our favorite spots to camp will biking down Hywy 101! Always clean and beautiful camp sites. Have always tent camped or yurt. Nice nature trails and adventures to be found!!

Forests and lakes, and dunes, oh my! Nice family campground nestled next to plenty of dune hills to bring out all the toys (or rent), a nice body of water to splash around in and plenty of trees to hang the hammock.
