3 nights at Richard Wizardy's Cynosure Project

Richard is a generous and kind host, as is his tenant/assistant. The entry into the property is a bit off putting, but the sites are well maintained. It’s like camping in a grove and very lovely. Richard has two huge livestock guardians dogs that look very intimidating, but are both lovely creatures. The older would lay outside our door like she was guarding it. It is a very quiet location.

2 nights at Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch

My husband and I stayed at Karla’s Hipcamp for two nights and throughly enjoyed ourselves. I enjoyed several refreshing dips is the pool and my husband and I bird watched from her front porch in the early evening! The grounds are delightful with Karla’s many artistic creations and arrangements.

6 nights at Desert's Edge at Lake Havasu

I think the best thing to say is, "this the only place we'll stay in Havasu." From Dan the host, the camp site and the location it can not be beat. Thank you Dan for a wonderful stay.

Karla’s Hummingbird will be at the top of my favorite places to stay. I hope she doesn’t get sick of us. Even with bad weather it was part of the experience. She's a great host and we can’t wait to go back.

Weekend Trip to Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch

Karla’s place exceeded our expectations, she has created a comfortable cowgirl chic oasis with lots of fun spaces to hang out. We had dinner in the shaded picnic area every evening, even though it was windy, the shade screens sheltered us. The view of the mountains is wonderful, the pool chilly but refreshing after hiking all day, and after dark the lighting is magical. Bathrooms and showers were clean, she lent us a 50-30 amp converter for our stay. Karla stopped by to see how we were doing but otherwise left us to do our own thing. She’s a wonderful host, hope we can make it back here again next year.

The site is absolutely spotless! Karla met us at the gate and walked us around the property. It is quiet and secluded, although she has 2 cheeky horses nearby. One kicks the stall (see cheeky!) and if youre not familiar with the sound it can be jarring. The whole property is decorated with whimsy and an eye for color. we ended up throwing an air mattress in the cabana instead of hassling with a tent and were quite comfy. Highly recommend.

1 night at Zion View Campsite

Overall, we had a fantastic experience. The tent cabin was nice and clean (and cooled down). The fire pits and the social area were really enjoyable. I loved the fact that they had BBQs and fire pits at each location with a very reasonably priced supply of fire wood and ice. The people we interacted with who worked in there were also polite, super helpful and friendly. Definitely a thumbs up from me and my wife…our dog enjoyed it too!

What a little gem. We were steps from a lovely, cool stream with big sycamores. Amazing shower building and a very nice bathroom. Got to meet the critters (alpacas, goats, and chickens). Laura is very friendly and a good host. The roads were a little winding and rough but, if you take your time, you'll do just fine. We have a heavy truck and camper and we did all right!

2 nights at Zion View Campsite

This campsite is a gem 💎 The view was amazing, especially at night. The host was very nice and always checking out on us if we need anything. Restrooms and showers are well maintained. The tent zipper was broken we did mentioned it to the host, but we just dealt with it. Spiders happen to get inside out tent but overall. I would definitely recommend it! 💯

We loved tent camping on Laura’s land. The toilet was great, with running water and it was a bonus to have a shower. The creek was a short walk and a good spot to cool off. We loved meeting the animals and helping to feed them. The road to get there is a gravel road but it was easy to navigate and drive. Would definitely visit again.

Richard was absolutely lovely! From the second we pulled in he was helpful and friendly. He offered us a full tour of his space and the chance to meet all the animals. He even offered us food or to take some duck eggs with us in the morning. The camping area was such a cool space filled with metal pyrotechnic sculptures and a creative energy. Richard is quite the artist and we are greatful to have been able to stay and meet him.

It was cute and cozy, and fairly well located. The shower was incredible, the bed was comfortable, and I loved the windows above the pillows where you can really see the stars. The whole thing is well build and well designed, and I will definitely stay there again if I go back to Phoenix.

Besides our amazing bird population, we have a seasonal colony of bats on the property. Sit by the pond and watch as they whizz by to get a drink before they head out into the summer night. The three dogs pictured will likely supervise your camp but can always be penned up if they are unwanted. I grew up on this property, my daughter was born here and it has been various things over the years from a small family farm to a charter school to a work trade program. Now it's our small homestead now. All money raised by this site is going right back into the campground, eventually a small cabin space too! These two Sites are better for tents or a small trailer. A personal generator may be used but only during certain hours. These are lovely spots with shade trees, so pretty. There are lots of mature Juniper trees and some Pine trees that provide shade on the property. Often we experience a lovely breeze. We live a mile off of 260 on a rugged dirt road. We keep the Entrance Gate locked for safety and security. We are located on 2 acres and have a garden and a green house where we grow a large variety of vegetables. We only accept trailers and fifth wheels of 21 feet or less on site #2 and #3. There is a Chicken House and a rooster and we have plenty of farm fresh eggs that are available to purchase. 0ur home is tucked away 1 mile off the 260 Hwy. on a rugged dirt road. First you will drive pass the Linden Valley Arena before reaching our property. The Arena was designed for ropers by ropers and is open from May thru September. 10-15 minute drive away is Fool Hollow lake, Show Low City Park, Safeway Grocery Store, Post Office, Library, and a variety of restaurants. Within that distance there is Boating, Fishing, Hiking, Picnic Areas, Large Dog Park, well equipped Playground area, Basketball Courts, Baseball fields, Sand Volley Ball, Tennis Courts, Racquet Ball Court, Horseshoe Pits, Disc Golf, Outdoor Exercise Stations, Walking Trail, Pavilions, Restrooms all the while enjoying the enormous, plentiful Ponderosa Pines. We are proud to be a pet-friendly park, allowing up to two well-behaved pets. All pets must be leashed at all times, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after them immediately.
