Outdoor opportunities are abundant for RVers in the City by the Bay.
The gateway to Wine Country and the Northern California coast, San Francisco has plenty of its own natural beauty to enjoy before setting off on a NorCal adventure. Without leaving the city, you can kitesurf at Ocean Beach, rent paddleboats in Golden Gate Park, bike across the Golden Gate Bridge, watch daredevil surfers underneath the bridge at Fort Point, traverse ocean bluffs next to the Pacific, and explore nature trails in the Presidio. A quick ferry ride puts you on the hiking trails of Angel Island, while a hop over the bridge takes you to the Redwood groves of Muir Woods and the hiking and biking trails of Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Just south of town, Pacifica State Beach is a favorite surfing spot. The city doesn’t have RV parks, but you can find some to the south with hookups and amenities. In Marin, some enroute campgrounds accommodate small self-contained RVs.
