Our place is 28 acres, and you can camp in a variety of locations. From spring to fall, do not drive into the upper field, there is a stop sign on that gate. Even if the gate is open do not enter, it is irrigated, and you could get stuck and cause property damage. Our niche is that we only host one group of people at a time. Whether you are a solo camper or a group of 50, you will never have to compete for space with another group. This also allows for increased safety for single women, elderly, and others who want increased safety. Keep in mind that winter brings snow, and we have a small bridge to cross and a slanted driveway. We are open year-round but make sure your tires can handle our terrain. Our driveway is immediately off Ontario Heights Rd. Google sometimes tells people to turn on Grand View Lane. Do not do this as there is no access to our property from that direction. We have a 300-gallon trash bin next to our mailbox that says camp host. Our driveway is immediately across the road from there. The gate is latched but not locked on the left side. Initial fee covers a spot for one sleeping structure. Add any additional tents/rv/vehicles used for sleeping. You can add extra sleeping structures under the extra tab. Included in options to buy is RV power hook up and EV overnight charging. A small somewhat muddy creek runs through the front of the property year-round. The water is clearer during the winter and spring months. Cleared spots in this area are available in the non-snow months are small so only tent camping in this area is recommended. It is densely wooded. We do have goats in this field, but they are generally shy. Oregon has an invasive poisonous weed called Water hemlock. If you plan to camp in this area, please familiarize yourself with this plant so you can avoid it. Camping areas have been cleared of this plant but if you wander along the creek you will encounter it. Other camping areas that people have liked are up top by the top field gate, or down in the field that our large chicken coop is in. There are no large animals in those areas, but chickens do make noises. Up top we have roosters that make noise about 5 am. The lower field on the right is the quietest. All 4 spots are dry camping. No power or water currently. we have a spot to launch boats which is right between sight 3 and 4. Good fishing. Very little boat traffic. Very private. In the fall big horn sheep frequently rut on the property. We usually have fresh eggs on hand. Dry climate. Sage brush and juniper trees here. We have a easy to access spot to fill up water to your camp trailers or rvs. The water is from a spring and Water tastes really good. This area has a lot of history. Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce tribe often stayed in this area and on the property. In fact this was where his tribe met to discuss and decide to try to go to escape to Canada. This is where that journey started. You can still find arrow heads on the shoreline every so often. I’m ruffly 15 miles north of Huntington oregon. 13 miles of which is dirt road. The property sits at the base of lookout mountain. Really good cell service here with Verizon Full bars. If you decide to come camp make sure your directions take you through Huntington. Google sometimes likes to try to get people to drive over the mountain. Or if your coming from the north it sometimes wants you to go through Richland and then on 34 miles of dirt road. Going Through Huntington onto snake river rd is the easy way to go.

Move over Canada—there's another Ontario in town. Hugging the Idaho border on the Snake River, this city is hidden in the Western Treasure Valley of eastern Oregon. Outdoor adventure is in full supply, from boating in river canyons to hiking the Oregon Trail. Ontario's private campgrounds or RV parks are a popular place to set up camp. Kick back with home comforts like Wi-Fi and swimming pools, or explore the area's historic ghost towns. Most Oregon state parks in the area are pretty rustic, so RV resorts are your best bet for RV sites with full hookups. For wilderness camping, head to Farewell Bend State Recreation Area. Laid-back RV and tent camping awaits on the Brownlee Reservoir. Explore desert hiking trails, or boat, water ski, and fish the lake that straddles the Idaho state line. Ever camped in the shadow of a rocky desert canyon? At Succor Creek State Recreation Area, striking rock formations take center stage. Rock hounds rejoice—limited collecting is allowed. The rustic campground is open year round, but keep in mind this place is pretty remote. Cell phone service? Not a chance. For the ultimate seclusion, make camp at Lake Owyhee State Park. The road leading up is pretty sketchy, but this park is worth the drive. Volcanic canyon walls surround the 53-mile-long reservoir—an explorer's paradise. Tent and RV sites are your ticket to kayaking, SUP boarding, and fishing the narrow canyon. Want to hang out closer to town? Stop by the Ontario State Recreation Site. It's a no-camping zone, but there's no better place to enjoy the Snake River. Shove off from the year-round boat ramp, or have lunch on the riverside picnic tables. Keep your eyes peeled—deer and Canada geese are common sights.
