Weekend Trip to Cedar River Retreat

Cedar River Cabin is the very definition of cozy. With a heater, mini-fridge, microwave and bottled water, it was hardly roughing it. Yet the setting is quiet, close to the Cedar River trail and full of birdsong. The mattress was actually comfortable! It’s the perfect spot to escape the sounds and pace of the city and so convenient. I will definitely be back.

I had a great time here! I was traveling by myself to escape the city for a couple of days, it was a quick trip less than an hour from Seattle. The property is really well cared for, great fire pit and covered picnic table area. The cabin was really cozy and private, while still being close to trails and a pretty well stocked grocery if you forgot something on the way.

Weekend Trip to Valhalla Tree Farm

We had such a great time the first time we stayed in the A Frame, that we booked it again. Our girls trip was perfect. The sleeping pads are plenty comfy, and the view is stunning. We brought our own water, but the kitchen had pots and pans already. My friend drove her minivan up the hill, which I was a little surprised, but she made it. I don't recommend it though. 4WD is best. Thank You again Shannon for another great stay.

Amazing location and features for the price! Cabin is a cute cozy lil lofted cabin with all the necessities for cooking, sleeping and exploring. There is not a place to shower but there is a cowboy tub which gets warm, that you can heat yourself. It is on a shared lot with some neighbors who were not present most of my visit, but other than that it pretty secluded and v close to the river. Host was also very kind and responsive! I don't know that dogs will be able to get up into the loft to sleep up there as the ladder is quite steep. Definitely definitely definitely worth the money.

Great place! The dogs loved being outside with no leash and the fence was secure enough we didn’t worry about them at all. All of the amenities were tidy and well kept.

It’s a delight, seriously. It was chilly and the wood stove kept me pretty warm and toasty. I’m not good with charcoal so I wasn’t able to get the tub going but I’m certain it’s great. I’ll definitely be back come the summer! It was quiet, the restroom area is super cute, basically I would like to live there forever.

Excellent stay here. Makayla was very responsive and thought of everything so that I felt at home. Loved the coziness of the place, the view, and lounging in the hammock on cold days but basking in the sun. Will definitely be back. Lots to do in the area. This was a perfect base camp.

Weekend Trip to Cedar River Retreat

Brittany's spot was my second Hipcamp experience and I couldn't have asked for a better one! The directions were easy to get to, the place was fairly quiet with the occasional place and low hum of the highway, and Brittany was quick to communicate. My dog and I were lucky to have the hill to ourselves so we wandered through the trees for a brisk after meal walk. Overall, it was a perfect evening of relxation away from the bustle of the city. Highly recommend :)

1 night at Forest Glen Cabin

Michael thought of everything reality! The cabin has all you would need and more. Surrounded by lush green and within you’ll find warmth and coziness. Really the perfect place to stay after exploring the beautiful Olympic Peninsula. Budget friendly and dogs are welcome! Twas easy to find, even in the dark when I arrived. Cannot recommend this place enough. I will most definitely be back soon!

I really enjoyed this accommodation and was quite impressed with all the attention to detail and creativity, creating a unique environment that was both intriguing and comforting. Weekend Trip to Simple Roots Ranch

What a lovely, cozy space! Dave showed me around when I got there and we chatted for a bit before I left, he's super nice and welcoming. I enjoyed relaxing both inside on the couch and at the table in the outdoor kitchen (which is covered), as well as walking around the property and saying hi to the dogs. I will definitely have to come back during the summer when the huckleberries are out!

Weekend Trip to Guemes North Homestead

My partner and I had such a great stay at the cabin! Ian stayed up to greet us when we arrived on a late ferry and gave us an awesome tour of his property, all powered by renewable energy! As someone working in the sustainability sector, this was an amazing sight and super inspiring. We took the weekend nice and slow and spent our time making a fire to warm up the cabin, strolled along the beach, and hiking up Guemes Mountain! A highlight of the trip definitely had to be relaxing in the cozy cabin, cooking on the rocket stove, and the renewable energy tour. We're looking forward to visiting again soon, thanks Ian and Lisa!

Camp Keyser is a wooded 5 acre parcel in the mountains, near mountain loop highway - in the center of everything wonderful in the northern cascade mountains. We have one private cabin and 6 campsites. Tent campers will enjoy the lush landscape of a mature forest with sites along the (seasonal) Thirsty Creek. Nearby (3 minute walk), users can contemplate views of Whitehorse Mountain, Jumbo Mountain, Glacier Peak, and Whitechuck Mountain. This part of the Stillaguamish valley and the adjacent Mountain Loop Highway is known for a great selection of hiking trails, at all skill levels. It is perfect hub for all of your outdoor interests. The trailhead for the summit of Whitehorse Mountain is just a mile away, as is Old Mine Road trail (45 minute hike ending in 2 waterfalls). A 15-20 minute walk takes campers to a swimming hole in the cool Stillaguamish river for a dip or a paddle. Even closer is Whitehorse Regional Trail (great for biking, walking and horseback riding) built on the bed of the former BNSF railroad through the North Stillaguamish River Valley, spanning over 27 miles. The nearly level trail meanders through the valley, rewarding visitors with picturesque, landscape views of forests, farmland, streams and rivers, and mountain vistas. Sites have a generous fire pit and access to a Porta-Potty. For bathing I recommend cool dip in the Stillaguamish River. In season there is also fishing, snowshoeing, concerts at the blue grass festival grounds, a rodeo, and so much more.

Nine Mile Adventures- Marrowstone is located at the end of an intentionally underdeveloped short plat. We became stewards in 98' at the ripe age of 21. Anything done or added to the land and setting was by our hand. Including the few small clearings of selectively cut trees to hand pouring and hauling water for mixing cement via our backs. We sure do hope we are doing her right! our plan? to leave as much untouched as possible. The property is made up of over 5 acres and is heavily treed with Grand Firs, large Western Red Cedar, Big Leaf Maple, Alder, Doug Fir, and many other native shrubs including edible berries such as huckleberry, salal berry, salmon berry. Micologists (mushroom hunters) are sure to find the treasure they seek growing fruitfully in these forests. Come forest bathe (literally) in our private charcoal fired soaking tubs. Self serve wooden tubs powered via flame come to temp in 2-3 hrs with proper tending. Camp 9Mile-Marrowstone is an off grid nature experience. Neighbors live symbiotically with the land, many are without electricity or city water as guests will experience as well. Stop by our seasonal farmstand located along driveway in the. Forgot something? we got you! Firewood, Charcoal, Butane, Propane, S'mores Kits, 9 Mile Merch etc all on offer inside a '71 VW BUS, Cruise by the "town" of Nordland which proudly boasts the iconic Nordland General Store, a definite nostalgic fun stop. If you have time park and take a stroll down the dock. Shower a day person? Fort Flaggler is your place (5 min. drive up the island-North) has full service public restrooms, complete with showers (bring some quarters) and flushing toilets, a wonderful trail system worth exploring and not a bad view of the straits including Port Townsend. If Laundry is something you find yourself needing, Port Hadlock has a fine one, situated next door to the QFC market. Throw in a load and head across the street to the "Valley Tav" for the best veggie burgers around! no joke.

This information is based on stories from some old timers my husband had spoken to in the past when he bought this property in 2002. The owner back in the old days sold off parcels and parcels of lands back then. The property is all fenced in, a place where your fur buddy can run free so you don't have to worry of the baby getting lost! Hopefully you'll get a visit from a deer and hear the hooting of the owl. :) You are welcome to check out our goats too if you want (they're in their enclosed space). The surroundings are peaceful and private, you will enjoy exploring the trails all around the 9 acres out of 12 we are sharing. Stroll down the hill to listen to the sounds of the creek and fish ladder. Our campground cabins are about 4.9 miles from the 'Granite Falls Fish Ladder'. Visit this beauty at Mountain Loop Highway if you fancy a little hike. Drive around 7 miles to the 'Lime Kiln Trailhead. The trail is full of amazing views and history. The Guemes North Homestead is ten acres of gorgeous tall trees, clearings, homestead buildings, pond, trails, renewable energy gear, and more, set in the middle of the north end of Guemes Island (a 7-minute ferry from downtown Anacortes), at the end of a 1/3-mile dead-end driveway. It has nature, quiet, and privacy. It includes a 30-year-old orchard, a developed garden with fine soil, a pond with rope swing and waterslide, several solar and wind energy systems, and multiple buildings. It's about a mile in two directions from the Pacific Ocean beach, and is surrounded by wooded acreage that is criss-crossed with trails and friendly neighbors, on an island with about 700 year-round residents and an active weekend/summer population. Homestead owner Ian Woofenden is an expert in renewable energy systems. He's lived off-grid at the homestead for 40-plus years, where he raised his large family and managed several small businesses. He now consults, sells, writes, and teaches about renewable energy in the U.S. and in Central America. If your idea of a great getaway is to help out and do physical work, just ask Ian. There's always something going on at the homestead, including garden and orchard work, trail building, wood cutting, construction, sawmilling, and more. Ian built this place, and has a broad knowledge of lots of homestead and sustainability topics. He loves sharing his knowledge and experience with guest, students, and interns. Secluded Olympic Cabin ☜(ﾟヮﾟ☜)

Incredible location! This sweet cabin is nestled at the base of Mt. Jupiter, directly between Dosewallips beach and the Olympic national Park. There's lots of gorgeous, mossy maples, shaggy cedars, and elk herds roaming free. The Cabin is easily accessible from the road, and has parking available. There's a secluded fire pit behind the cabin with a seasonal stream running by. Its a relaxing place to hang out for a few days, and/or excellent basecamp to explore the amazing forests, mountains, and beaches nearby. Also, there's lots of great foraging to be done (nettles, mushrooms, and oysters; oh my!) GPS LOCATION: When driving to the cabin, your GPS will tell you that 'your destination is on the left'. This is a lie. The cabin will be on the right. There is a metal gate that is closed with a chain but not locked. CABIN LAYOUT AND SLEEPING AMENITIES: The Cabin is just a little guy; only 16'x20'. There is a kitchen, living room, and dining room area, and the bathroom is a separate room - we call it our 'studio cabin'. We have a fold out couch for which we provide linens, pillows, and a comforter. There is also an inflatable mattress that is a tight squeeze, but can allow for four people to sleep (with a little furniture rearranging). There is a deck that is large enough for a two person tent that would also make a four person camp-out comfortable. All linens and towels are stored in the trunk and the bathroom cabinet. There is a 4' round dining room table with four chairs and a small table on the porch with two more chairs. All the cushions for the chairs are in a cabinet under the table inside. ACCESSIBILITY: Unfortunately, the cabin is not wheelchair accessible. There are 5 stairs up to the deck and the bathroom door is only 27" wide. SURROUNDING AREA: There are small trails leading away from the cabin; do not walk down them! They lead to neighboring properties and I cannot guarantee that there won't be neighbors who would be very surprised by a stranger showing up on their land! There are lots of public trails only a few minutes drive in either direction from the property :) STOLEN LAND: This property is on stolen, indigenous land. If you are Coast Salish or Makah, please get in touch with me for a discounted stay.
