Nomadic camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Lizzard Mountain is located on Point of Rocks Ranch which was established in 1959 by my father Roy Rust Largent Jr., his brother David Largent, my grandfather Roy Rust Largent Sr. It is still a working ranch operated by my son Roy Rust Largent IV and is home of the original Miniature Hereford cattle.Beautiful views of surrounding mountains. Awsome night skies. Lizzard Mountain is directly behind the campsite with huge bolders to climb on. Hiking on other areas of ranch available with permit.

Nice comfy trailer, hospitable host
Nice comfy trailer. Everything worked; stove, AC, shower, toilet. Great communication. Roy is very hospitable, little things like having the trailer cooled down before I got there, extra fan turned on, fly swatter hanging at entrance, broom and dust pan. Can’t beat the price. Would do again. Thanks.

Cozy and Well-stocked
Group trip
Roy was an excellent host and responded very quickly to messages and calls. The trailer was so clean and cozy. He even offered the upgraded trailer at no additional cost. Everything we needed was provided. Pots, pans, cooking utensils, water bottles, bedding, towels, cleaning supplies, etc. The neighbors in the area were also very friendly, so was the dog that kept visiting. My sons weren't allowed any electronics. But my 12 year old son found the movies and enjoyed watching old comedies on the DVD player provided, an added plus in the trailer that we didn't expect. A/c worked well and the boys enjoyed relaxing in the trailer.

Fort Davis Funky RV Park
With kids
There was a mixup with our booking, and Roy was very accommodating and set us up in different accommodation. We didn’t actually stay in this trailer. However, Roy is highly recommended as a good host.

Not private but great views
Overall it wasn't horrible. The site had great views. Relatively quiet. Unfortunately, however, it wasn't nearly as "secluded" as I had hoped. It was very near two other residences. One of which I could hear the TV on in. To be fair, it was early enough in the evening not to be disruptive I'm just simply illustrating the proximity of the site to other houses. The site itself did indeed have a dramatic backdrop of some impressive boulders/rock outcroppings but I found myself being very aware of the other houses. And since no one ever came out to greet me it was slightly awkward. Someone else may very well not have a problem with this. It just wasn't for me. Also, there is a two night stay minimum requirement. However, I was just staying one night and ended up paying for two nights. I rationalized this when I booked that if this site was truly secluded and awesome it would be worth it as I travel through Ft. Davis several times a year en route to Big Bend Ranch SP and was looking for a different place to stay other than the Davis Mountain SP. So I ended up paying $46 for a one night stay that didn't meet my expectations. This site will probably be perfect for someone else just wasn't for me.

Has everything you need. Quiet, cozy and warm. It looks like Terlingua but once you get to your spot, it's ok. Close to everything Fort Davis. Didn't even have to see anyone. The host was super responsive and polite!

Excellent views and hiking. Cool primitive camp spot. Try not to go when it is super windy
