Caravan parks near Gloucester guide

Overview

With its rugged terrain characterised by the Great Dividing Range, Gloucester offers a rock-solid caravan camping experience. Holiday parks near the meandering Gloucester River provide a comfortable home base for whitewater rafting and kayaking excursions. Powered caravan sites by the river, some on pull-through paved pads, may be supported by amenity blocks with showers, toilets, and laundry machines. A bit north, anglers can visit the Manning River catchment for reeling in Australian bass, then drive into the mountain range for bushwalking at Barrington Tops National Park. Pet-friendly caravan pitches in and near the park typically offer picnic tables and barbecue grills—plus shaded pitches next to spacious grassy areas for kids to run around. Wake up and go trekking on the Sharpes Creek walking track or biking up to Careys Peak lookout—where you should keep an eye out for red-necked pademelons and brush turkeys. Caravan campers visiting in summer may want to find powered sites to beat the heat. Alternatively, head to the Gloucester during spring or autumn when temperatures are milder.
