Our property is a stunning, flat, private block of land, located just 400m to the beaches, restaurants and hotel of Picnic Bay on Magnetic Island. We have a small creek that runs through the property during the wet season, and several perfect camp spots bordered by mature paperbark trees, overlooking Butler's Creek. There is water available on the site - but you will need to bring your own hose (20-40m long) to have access it. You MUST be FULLY SELF-CONTAINED with your own toilet/shower facilities and power. Please leave no waste on the property or any trace of your stay. Although not fenced, your dog is more than welcome - but please watch him with our resident wildlife ... as we are located in a koala corridor. And also be sure to please clean up all dog waste. Magnetic Island is located 8km offshore from Townsville and is accessed via a passenger ferry that operates every hour from the city and a vehicle barge that operates several times a day. Book via the 'Sealink' website. "Maggie" as the island is affectionately known, has a permanent population of about 3000 people. There are a two supermarkets, a medical centre, resorts, restaurants to cater for tourist. Our block in beautiful Picnic Bay has been in our family for over 100 years and is home to a host of animal and bird life - we have resident kookaburras, nesting curlews and occasional koalas. Despite it's central location, it is very private. The Golf course is located right behind us and the beach is a 400m stroll. There is a bus stop nearby within 50m, that will take you all around the island. Be sure to stop at Arcadia to feed the wild rock wallabies and to go to the Toad Races held weekly at the Arcadia pub. There are spectacular beaches, bush walks, koala spotting, boat tours, reef dive operators, art galleries, homeware shops, restaurants, coffee shops, a brewery, pubs and a bus stop nearby. It is perfect for a relaxing getaway!!

We border onto Eden Lassie Creek which has tidal ocean access for saltwater fishing and there is an abundance of estuary fishing and crab spots available. We are a nature based camping area. Cleared shady camping spots are available for fully self contained campers as there are currently no facilities available so you must have own camping toilet and leave no trace. Access to the camping area is for 4WD only with caravans off road and high clearance. Firewood is available for a small fee or you can collect any fallen timber yourself. There is a ban on cutting down any standing timber even it is dead. There is plenty of room to run for the kids and dogs though we do ask that your pet not annoy our cattle or other campers. Rosgrow Farm Camping

Rosgrow Farm, 15 minutes off the Bruce Highway, offers secluded campsites set on a large tidal creek. There are plenty of trees and shelter. The creek offers fishing, crabbing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, boating and swimming. Fire pits and picnic areas make the sites perfect for evening relaxation with bird life and jumping fish, talking about the day's fishing or eating the day's crab catch. Limited firewood is sometimes available. It can be bought at a reasonable price about 6km along the road towards Burrum Heads.. Campers must be self-contained with their own toilet and shower and need to remove their rubbish. Particularly suitable for RVs and caravans with own toilet. Well suited for overnight travelers passing between Maryborough and Bundaberg, or others needing a few days rest, fishing or water activities. Sandflies are a problem in this region anywhere near water, in the mornings until about 9am and in the evenings after about 3:30pm, so bring plenty of repellent and apply early and often. Sites are 30-40 metres apart with a maximum of 8 vehicles and their occupants.

The beach has good 4 wheel drive access and is very quiet with secluded private camp sites. Sites are nestled in amongst native coastal vegetation that runs into tropical rain forests. The Beach is classified as a Green zone under Qld law which means fishing is excluded along the beach. You can fish at the creek mouth to the north. There is also creek access through the property but no camping there. A small boat can be launched and retrieved. Self sufficient camping only. No toilets, showers, dump points or power provided at this time. Horse yards are available if you whish to bring your horse for rides along the beach, obviously all at your own risk. Well behaved, quiet dogs are allowed, and must be kept within the campsite unless your walking them. Be respectful of others. Areas are available for group Bookings Things to do here include, beach access (walks, drives), horse riding, bird watching, Fishing, Crabbing, A small wet land walk. Or just sit back and watch the beach change with the tide. What to bring and not bring, Insect repellent or be prepared to cover up when sandflies and midges are out. Midskinrick has 7 large family sized powered sites with a firebox available for each site (no water connection) situated near the dam. Access to, Hot showers (Small fee applies), Flushing toilets, Washing Machine (small fee per load) and a Camp kitchen. The powered sites are approximately 400m from the riverbank. Confirming there are no water connections to these sites, but fresh water is available for drinking. Additional $10 per night for power. Midskinrick has 7 large family sized unpowered sites with a firebox available for each, overlooking the river flats - Septic flushing toilets, Shower room (solar bag not supplied), Drinking water, Camp kitchen area, Firebox - bring your own wood or purchase from the owners (please do not source firewood from the roadside due to animal habitats). Hot showers are available near the dam area for a small fee. There is no option to add power here. Strictly unpowered.
