Great spot. Loved camping there and would definitely recommend. Jason is a great host. Communication and everything else as well were absolutely faultless. Basic toilet and shower with hot water, but it's everything you need 🙂. Seperate campsites give you a great sense of privacy, hardly saw anyone else on the property. We chose the equine campsitr and loved it. Secluded area but still only a 2min walk from amenities.

So relaxing, loved our stay. Dogs had the best time.

We parked at Windmill hollow, all the camping spots are nice and private except Little Fig. Absolutely beautiful location. So calm, soft grass for camping and playing, good fire pits provided. Would definitely go again. The swimming spots were not as deep or clear as expected. There was a nice deep dam but if your kids or spouse won't get in brown water. They won't swim here. We did though. Waterfall was a bit of a trek. We are 3 people in our late 20s but found the trek overgrown and only marked by spraypainted pink dots. Lots of spiderwebs and rock hoping. Really nice drop toilet and hot shower. Overall would stay again.

Such an awesome camp site. Jason was very welcoming and the site was in such great condition. We enjoyed the walks in the National Park and serenity of the farm. Thanks for a great weekend.

From the moment I picked up the property map at the front of property I felt the adventure start! I wanted to visit all the places on the walking trail map but because I camped with dogs I couldn’t do the National park walks. There were plenty of interesting walks on the property and I was able to do most of them. Great camp site on the creek and excellent shower and very clean toilet all within a short walk from camp site. Enjoyed the peace and quiet - as the property was at the end of a road there was no external traffic noise. It was insane just how clear the night sky was - an absolute must for skywatchers. The wildlife was abundant including a daily visit from a kangaroo, goanna and kingfisher. The dogs enjoyed swimming in crystal clear creek as did I (it was waist deep and very refreshing on a hot day). There was also a large dam to swim in. I can’t wait to return without dogs next time to do the National park hikes. Jason, the property owner and host was awesome and visited me daily to update me on the weather and I very much appreciated that. Great bloke to talk to also. It was well worth travelling the 4 hour round trip to camp there. I’ll be back!

3 nights at Hopevale Adventure Camping

I have had this campsite on my list for a long time and it didn't disappoint! We camped at Windmill Hollow which was a nice open grassy area with plenty of room and a small creek running by. We also explored the other sites while we were there and found that Little Fig Flat had the best swimming hole, Big Fig Camp was more private and shady also with a small swimming hole and the Equine Camp was open and grassy but shaded by big trees. The bathroom and shower were lovely and throughout the camp it was obvious that effort had been put in to make everything nice for the guests. The walks were also one of the highlights, with three bush tracks to choose from at varying difficulty levels. The owner, Jason, was friendly and updates the weather board daily. There is no reception so it's a perfect place to have a break from it all and was great to be able to bring our dog too!

This is an awesome camp site with cattle and horse's roaming around, it was nice to only hear the nature and river. Very tranquil, relaxing and private.

2 nights at Wonderland 4WD Bushcamp

2nd time here at Hopevale and cannot get over how beautiful this place is. The waterholes still had enough water for a swim and the new swimming dam was awesome. Great work Jason and family.

This spot is epic! Jeremy and Charmaine are incredibly helpful and lovely. Their cows are so friendly. The Summit is next level. It’s incredibly beautiful. Take the 4WD requirements seriously, and you’ll have the most wonderful time.

2 nights at Hopevale Adventure Camping

Perfect spot to getaway from the crowds with the Mrs and the dog. Nice and quiet and very well kept camp spot. Good little creek next to the camp, with the dog wasting no time to jump in. Directions to the property and the campsite were super easy to follow. Shower and toilet about a 2 min walk from the Little Fig camp spot and the shower was nice and warm. Both toilet and shower were clean and well maintained. We’ll definitely be back but for longer next time!

Mountain View camp site is just a beautiful, clean camp site, Garry and Natalie are the best hosts and make you feel welcome, this was our second stay here, this is definitely on our regular camp spot list.

Weekend Trip to Brooyar Eco Lodge and Caravan Park

Lovely secluded area right on the crystal clear flowing creek.. Spent most of the time in the creek, our daughter and dog had a fantastic time splashing around. Seen plenty of fish, caught a few too. Friendly cattle passed through by our camp and kept on their way. Sunset was great to kick back and enjoy, followed by the stars .. Milky way is such an amazing sight when you get away from suburbia!! Michael contacted us on the day to give directions, then we were met by Tony on arrival and lead down through the property to our campsite.. Highly recommend this place for a weekend getaway.. We loved it!

Weekend Trip to Wonderland 4WD Bushcamp

Great spot to get away for a couple of days. The view is definitely worth the wheel to the top. There’s only 1 spot we came across on the way up that would give some people trouble. Nothing too crazy just be careful where you have your wheel placement and can drive up with relative ease.

Amazing campsite, beautiful walks/ hikes clearly marked, there’s even a cave and a waterfall! Such a well maintained campsite, each site feels so private we stayed in big fig and loved it, there’s a little creek and a nearby dam to swim! A warm shower! Jason was very friendly and informative and gave us a delicious bunch of bananas. So so good would definitely recommend Hopevale!

We had a lovely weekend with our friends at Hopevale. Big fig is a great spot and the hikes on Jason’s land are beautiful!

The windmill hollow was flat, freshly mowed and large enough for five families with heaps of room left over, the creek was deeper than expected (waist deep) perfect. The other sites on the property were far enough away that you did not hear or see almost anybody. The toilet and shower were clean and only a short walk. The waterfall and hidden cave hikes were as described including accurate return times. Jason was lovely and even popped down and gave us some bananas which were delicious. We also found the host directions easy to follow to the property.

Weekend Trip to Wonderland 4WD Bushcamp

We loved our time here. We were a group 8 and the camp spot (little fig) was perfect. We had the creek to paddle in which was lovely. Toilet and shower were less than 5 mins walk and lovely and clean. We walked to the waterfall around 90 minutes or so return, which was lovely. We had a fire and jason popped in each day to check in. Highly recommend..

Had a great time at 4wd wonderland! Camped at the creek site, the site, the creek and the trails surrounding are beautiful!, went for a hike up the creek/waterfalls with our kelpie found some nice swimming holes to cool off in along the way. made our way back to camp and went for an afternoon stroll up the 4wd tracks to the next sight along where we were greated with some nice views!, and that’s not even the top site ‘the summit’ the stock hilux may need a few modifications to get up there! 😂, if you are after a challenging 4wd track with views to make it all worth it definitely head up to the top sites!, staying creekside for us with the moo cows though was plenty in itself made a few cow friends and got to watch them playing around all day. 10/10 would recommend the hosts are lovely also! we will be back 👌

McSweeny Haven

Our property is located on the site of the First Kilkivan Township and was home to a gold rush in 1868 where a 73 oz nugget was discovered. Guests will have access to a portable toilet and fire pit throughout their stay. Gold is still found in and around the creek with fossicking permitted at an extra daily rate of $25 per person. As this is private property we require that all the QLD Fossicking Act rules and regulations are followed this includes having your own permit which must be supplied before fossicking is permitted. These rules include no machinery or pump operated sluices such as high banking sluices. Detectors are welcome and some great finds have been found with them including gold and coins from the 1860’s. Large groups are welcome. There are many great shaded camping spots along the creek or a large open area of about 50 acres for larger groups. There is also a year round swimming hole fed by a solar bore on the property for anyone wanting to cool down. Kids under 12 are free but if fossicking must be covered by a permit. Pets are welcome. We are only 45 minutes to Noosa, 20 minutes to the Amamoor Country Music Muster, only 1 km to Mitchell Creek Rock and Blues Festival, 15 minutes to Borumba Dam. We own a working Dairy Farm, the next property on from the camping site. Opposite the camping grounds we plant summer feed (White Sorghum Silage) and Winter feed (Oats or Barley). Bring you own fire pits. All weather access road, if towing please use 4WD. Mountain MiniMoos 4WD Bushcamp is located 15 minutes from Maleny in the heart of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. It features 3 private sites in a spectacular bush setting (and more are coming!). We welcome small groups and their pets and cater to couples and small groups looking for a secluded weekend away. There is a two night minimum. A MINIMUM OF AWD VEHICLE IS NEEDED JUST TO GET ONTO THE PROPERTY. THERE IS NO WHERE TO PARK VEHICLES THAT CANNOT REACH THE SITE. Please take the track descriptions seriously. We're not embellishing just to discourage inexperienced 4WDers. These are NO JOKE. Gumtree Summit and The Gun Range are up a steep and rocky track that require techincal driving skills and a capable vehicle. These sites are very difficult to access in wet weather. You need to know what you are doing. When booking, ensure you reach each site description thoroughly and send us a message answering the vehicle capability questions prior to requesting a booking. Fuzzy miniature galloway cattle freely roam the property here. If you are not camping at the Summit sites, where they don't tend to go, you may see us driving around in our side-by-side given them lots of treats and cuddles. The Cooke Family welcomes you to “Hopevale”. A beautiful 113 acre property bordered by Wrattens National Park at the edge of the world in the peaceful Widgee district of greater Gympie. Jason, a landscaper by trade, and Jacinta a teacher by profession, met many years ago at a national Christian youth conference. Four beautiful children later and many years down the track, they bought Hopevale as a blank cattle fattening property in 2018. After much hard work, they have made it what it is today, with plans to continually improve. We have different camp options available, one of which is set up for those guests also wanting to stay with horses or just have a larger group booking. Guests will have access to a toilet and shower throughout their stay which is within walking distance from each of the campsites. Campfires and pets are welcome. The property has only had 4 farming owners in its 110 odd years since it was first surveyed and selected in 1915. The Hillcoats, Bishops, Cotters, and now the Cooke’s. The families over the years have used the property for timber getting, dairy, beef and small cropping. The property is geologically rich with volcanic soils, sandstone escarpments full of caves and overhangs. The mighty Wrattens Falls sits to the back of the property in the National Park and is a sight to behold in full flow. It feeds the head waters of the western branch of Widgee Creek which meanders through the property. The subtropical dry rainforest clad mountains are dominated by the majestic Bunya and Hoop pines and are a testament to what once was covering the entire property before being cleared for farming. Remnant riparian creek lines are botanically rich and diverse holding Red and White Cedar, Teak, Silky oak and many other coveted timber trees harvested back in the day. There are many species of animals and birds that call Hopevale home. From water dragons, frogs and fish in the creeks, monitors, wallabies, deer, koalas, possums and phascogales in the eucalypts. Red-back wrens, pardalotes, rainbow bee-eaters, finches and quail call the open grasses home while whip birds give their iconic call in the forest. Gundy Getaway

Our names are Chris and Christine. We recently moved to Gundiah Qld and acquired a beautiful piece of land (approx. 320 acres) with about 70 acres of picturesque camping located on the Mary River. Our property is located halfway between Gympie and Maryborough (approx. 20 minutes from the Bruce Highway) tucked away down a private road which is lovely and peaceful. We have some walking trails located on the Camp Grounds to take in the scenery, or for the more adventurous located behind the office are longer walking trails with spectacular views at the top. There is a bike track and playground with Mini Putt Putt to keep the kids amused! Currently an RC track in the making for the remote 4WD enthusiasts. Easy access to the Mary River if you would like a spot of fishing, swimming or kayaking. Keep your eye out for the platypus and Mary River Turtles. We also have fire pits available at most sites with plenty of free firewood to collect around the property. Your fury friends are more than welcome but for the safety of them and others must be on a lead at all times. We are located about 50 minutes from Gympie, an hour 15 minutes from Rainbow Beach and or Hervey Bay and 45 minutes from Maryborough. The town of Tiaro is only 15 minutes down the road which has a Foodworks, Pub, United Fuel and Cafe. Don't forget the local Gundy Pub is only 5 minutes down the road. Sublime Camping

Pitch your tent or park your van in our picturesque orchard grove. We are right next door to Sublime Farm and Brewery, where you can meet new friends, pick your own limes, grab a delicious meal, sample their craft brews, and enjoy live music on the weekends. It is a large block and there are campsites far enough away that you can enjoy the peace and quiet. Guests will have access to a toilet throughout their stay. Pets are permitted but we ask you to please keep them on a leash at all times to protect the wildlife and surrounding environment. Our property features a Koala habitat and a creek where we occasionally spot platypus. There are a range of great nearby activities, farms, orchards, walks etc. It's the perfect spot to explore the Cooloola Coast, Rainbow Beach and Fraser Island. Please note the Bar and Restaurant at Sublime opens on weekends, with limited trading hours midweek, so please phone ahead to check opening hours if this is an important part of your visit.
