    Beautiful 8 acre property situated on the edge of the Craigbourne Dam, 2 minutes from the township of Colebrook and 50 minutes from the Hobart CBD. Our property offers are great getaway experience for any traveller. The Craigbourne Dam is a all year round recreational fishing ground and stocks many species of fish i.e. Atlantic Salmon, Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout to name a few. Our property is a pet friendly park but we do ask all patrons to be considerate of the surrounding farmland and live stock . As we are a fully self contained campground we do not provide power, toilets or showers. You'll need to have your own amenities and discard of any rubbish . Limit phone coverage but still enough to call/text Contained campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place. Firewood for sale for a small fee (see Extras). IMPORTANT : Any guest that wish to fish the Craigbourne Dam will be asked to purchase a angling license for the duration of their stay . Thanks

The property is 380m from the junction of the Lyell Highway and the Gordon River Road. It has 450m absolute river frontage on the River Derwent (no riparian reserve). The river here is freshwater, potable and a renowned trout water, (licence required). Three kilometres from the village of Gretna. 4WD Preferred. 2WD need to assess river access. Campers need all own amenities and leave no trace. Dog friendly but please see rules, we have livestock and so dogs need to be well controlled at all times. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place (see rules around campfires). Due to hydro generation activity, the river may slowly rise or fall up to 1m (often without rain) so please be careful around the water.

    Stringybark is a quiet 80 hectare rural property in the North East of Tasmania, featuring bush, native grassland and 4 beautiful lakes. It's the perfect place to kick back and relax, enjoy the views, the abundant wildlife and refreshing swims in the lakes on the property. If you feel like going for a wander, you can spend hours exploring the bush and native grasslands on the property and if you're keen on climbing the hill you get rewarded with amazing views over the Great Western Tiers. Why not take your mountain bike up there and enjoy the downhill ride afterwards? Sunsets are spectacular at Stringybark and the skies phenomenal during clear nights. Although it feels like the end of the world, surrounded by bush and wildlife, we're only 30 minutes drive from Launceston CBD, Ben Lomond National Park and Josef Chromy's winery and only a 20 minute drive from Launceston Airport, making it a perfect base to explore Launceston and surrounds. You need to be fully self contained and there are no amenities. But there is a beautiful lake with jetty to swim in. We live on the property, just a stone's throw from the camp site, so if you ever need anything, just shout out. Dogs are permitted, however strictly on lead only to protect the wildlife and our sheep. If your dog gets very excited around wildlife or sheep, this may not be a suitable stay, since they might come right up to your camp. Please note, that Stringybark is a working property. While we'll always respect your privacy and keep noise levels to a minimum, please be aware that we do work on the land and that tools, building material and other rural property stuff can be present at any time (never on the campsite though). Please ALWAYS supervise children and pets, particularly in the following areas: -bush and grass areas where snakes can be present most of the year -around the shed where we store farm materials -around our lakes which are not fenced in We're so excited to be sharing our piece of paradise with campers from near and far and from all walks of life :)

The famous Rustic Bakehouse and Ringwood Hotel are just down the road. Dog friendly. You'll need be self-contained with own amenities. Guests must be over 18 and must be in a self-contained vehicle. No tents. Cressy is Tasmania's only 'troutified' township as the local area is a mecca for fly fishing. Located 34 km south west of Launceston, Cressy is a small, attractive, and historically significant town which came into existence in the 1850s to service the surrounding wheat farms. Very nice back yard hidden from the street. Views of the mountains.

    We only stayed the one night but it's a great little place. Situated only a short 30-40 minute drive from Cradle Mountain. Steve is the first Hipcamp Owner that has come to say hello and we thought that was lovely. Well maintained and would definitely recommend.

    Loved every minute! Petrina had detailed instructions and a mud map which made finding the campsite super easy. Plenty of space allocated to each campsite so you feel like a whole paddock is yours and no one is on top of you. The kids loved seeing the cows and horses! Would stay again.

    What a beautiful location and the perfect base to explore Cradle Mountain. So much wildlife, echidna, fish, native hens, black cockatoos. Gorgeous views over the dam to the forest beyond. The wheelbarrow of wood was great for our 3 night stay! Friendly, helpful hosts too. We loved our time there.

    Camp and fish just a stonesthrow from one of Tasmania's most stunning natural landscapes, Cradle Mountain. There is a lovely walking track around the dams periphery. Feed fish from the edge, spot platypus frolicking about, and keep your eye out for Peacocks wandering the property too. For those wanting to spread out, prefer privacy or are traveling in groups we encourage you to book our 4wd Plateau and 4wd Dispersed Sites which are open during the peak months depending on cattle movements. Our main campground has 10 sites and is open all year round. The main campground has level grassed campsites measuring 6m in width and 19m in length (Sites 2 - 10) Campsite 1 is the larger site and measures 10m in width and 19m in length and sits seperate to the other sites. Price advertised is per site, per night for 2 people. Campfires permitted in designated area within the main campground only and when restrictions aren't in place. Firewood is provided.     At Hill Top Farm Meander we run beef cattle and five working draught horses. Our property boasts commanding views of Huntsman lake , the Great Western Tiers and Meander Valley. There are numerous well known walks to do nearby, Meander Falls, Mother Cummings Peak and Smoko Falls to name a few. Huntsman Lake is a great favourite of fly fishermen and kayakers alike, there is also a very pleasant picnic grounds there, swimming hole and boat ramp. The village of Meander is 4 kms away offering a wonderful cafe , where the staff are friendly and the hamburgers , coffee and cakes are fantastic. As we have no facilities on our farm yet, so we ask that all campers must be fully self contained, with their own toilet , water and power.

    We grow and process organic certified medicinal herbs and plants. The camping site is located in a beautiful location overlooking the lavender fields, in bloom december/january, with the ever-changing Mt Roland in the background. On days with cold southerly winds, alternative campingsites are available on the farm. Please contact us to find out. Includes use flushing toilet, hot shower and laundry (external access). Approx. 300m from the campsite. We are pet friendly. We've got room for up to 5 separate bookings. Due to shortage of personnel, we can no longer offer the farm tours. Hope this will change coming season 2024/25. But hipcampers are welcome to have a walk on the farm. We are working together with other organic certified farmers. They lease parts of our land to grow vegetables. Hipcampers are welcome to have a walk around their crops as well. Big news: we have started to build a tearoom with possibilities to organise herbal workshops and give education about growing and using medicinal herbs. . It will also have a shop and space to enjoy light refreshments, organic coffee, chocolate, juice and herbal tea. Extra bathroomfacilities will be available to our hipcampers only. Hope to have it finished season 2025/26.
