1 night at Stringybark Bush Camp

We only stayed for one night as we were only passing through the area but we enjoyed our stay. We were the only ones camping at the time and enjoyed some local wines and cheese by the damn with our 2 collies. Romina's communication was great and we would stay there again (maybe next time for longer).

We were unsure if we were in the right spot because the directions said there were two entrances but there was only one. Maybe a Wattle Farm sign on the gate would be helpful as nobody met us there and we didn't see anyone in the two nights we stayed. Also unless you want to walk down to the sandy area there isn't alot of river access for fishing. Other than that we loved our stay here . Peaceful even with the occasional car passing. We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves both nights. We will come back in summer.

We were lucky and had the whole place to ourselves. Fire pit was great, bought our own firewood. River access was fairly easy and even though I didn’t catch anything, it was very relaxing. Extremely easy to get our caravan into a good spot.

What a lovely park, felt like a bush camp but with all the facilities! Lots of wildlife of a night and a great place to camp and explore The Nut, Arthur River, The Arch and Tarkine Way. Loved it!

This was our favourite campsite close to Barrington Lakes. The view was phenomenal. If we didn't have to recharge and dump our tanks every few days, we would have set up permanently, but I have no issue recharging when you get the stunning view without the crowds.

i absolutely loved the campsite. The field had a beautiful vista of farmland with a spectacular mountain backdrop. As the mist cleared in the morning the mountain appeared. The bathroom was a walk through an array of ordered shrubs and trees. It was clean, and generously offered apples and eggs for free. Marlene and her dog were very welcoming. Highly recommend!!

A quiet spot with a great view, I somehow lucked out and got the place to myself! The directions were easy to follow, yes the bathroom is a walk away from the site but it is lovely and clean. Also managed to see a stunning sunset and later the Aurora while I was there. Myself and my furry friend will definitely be back!

A lovely, quiet, off-grid site beside the picturesque Leven River. Just a 15 minute drive away from Ulverstone and its beautiful beaches, this was an ideal spot for us to base ourselves for three nights. The roads (bitumen and some gravel as you get closer to the campsite) are well maintained and were easy to traverse with our vehicle and caravan. A very quiet spot, with minimal local traffic passing by. Plenty of birdlife to watch (especially the charming wrens), and we also saw the odd trout or two rising.

Semaphore Farm is a 400-acre property with convict history, bordering the Port Artur historic site. It is a private timber reserve and a working forest farm. We have a combination of native eucalypt forest and plantation, and we grow hay and our own beef. We have many walking and bike trails through 150 acres of forest and pasture accessible to campers. The campsite has spring water on tap, a hot shower, toilet, rustic camp kitchen, wood stove, gas BBQ, level sites, and a campfire when permitted. Tent sites are flexible so you can choose your own space within a 2-hectare area, while Level pad sites are limited. The Port Arthur Historic Site and a safe swimming beach are within walking distance and Safety Cove and Remarkable Cave are only a 5-minute drive away. Longer walks, including the Three Capes tracks, are easily accessible. Launch your boat nearby to access good fishing or fish for squid off the Port Arthur jetty. There is plenty of wildlife to see at night and birds during the day. You might even see our resident Wedgetail Eagle! Dog-friendly (must be under control/on a lead/contained).

Approx. 300m from the campsite. We are pet friendly. We've got room for up to 5 separate bookings. Due to shortage of personnel, we can no longer offer the farm tours. Hope this will change coming season 2024/25. But hipcampers are welcome to have a walk on the farm. We are working together with other organic certified farmers. They lease parts of our land to grow vegetables. Hipcampers are welcome to have a walk around their crops as well. Big news: we have started to build a tearoom with possibilities to organise herbal workshops and give education about growing and using medicinal herbs. . Dogs are permitted, however strictly on lead only to protect the wildlife and our sheep. If your dog gets very excited around wildlife or sheep, this may not be a suitable stay, since they might come right up to your camp. Please note, that Stringybark is a working property. While we'll always respect your privacy and keep noise levels to a minimum, please be aware that we do work on the land and that tools, building material and other rural property stuff can be present at any time (never on the campsite though). On days with cold southerly winds, alternative campingsites are available on the farm. Please contact us to find out. Includes use flushing toilet, hot shower and laundry (external access). Approx. 300m from the campsite. We are pet friendly. We've got room for up to 5 separate bookings. Due to shortage of personnel, we can no longer offer the farm tours. Hope this will change coming season 2024/25. But hipcampers are welcome to have a walk on the farm. We are working together with other organic certified farmers. They lease parts of our land to grow vegetables. Hipcampers are welcome to have a walk around their crops as well. Big news: we have started to build a tearoom with possibilities to organise herbal workshops and give education about growing and using medicinal herbs. . It will also have a shop and space to enjoy light refreshments, organic coffee, chocolate, juice and herbal tea. Extra bathroomfacilities will be available to our hipcampers only. Hope to have it finished season 2025/26.

The Tavern is on the Bass Highway half way between Smithton and Wynyard. Both Powered and Non Powered sites available, Toilet and shower block as well as Laundry. We are close to Stanley and the Rocky cape National Park for walks there is a boat ramp at both places and access to fishing. The big tree, Dip falls and Trowutta's arch are near by as well. Day trips to Marrawah and Arthurs River and sandy cape.
