Myrkwood Farms is a community agritourism site featuring all natural crops, goats, ducks, chickens. And primitive camp sites.
Visit the rich historical and wild-life attractions nearby, listen to the coyotes howl on the full moon within the safety of our camp, enjoy ample opportunities for bird watching! Two acres of forest and a working farm on the Historic Liberty Trail.
Artesian well water, coolers, and charging hubs in the communal area. Free ranging chickens and wildlife. Take a picture in our garden, check out the Hearse Green House, walk our short nature trail!
Pets are allowed on leashes, but please keep them at your campsite and away from the birds, ducks, and goats. A little innocent curiosity may disturb the laying cycle of our hens!
We work hard to insure that all tents and shared areas (kitchen, composting toilet, shower) are sanitized after each visit and that privacy and social distancing are respected. If you would like to skip the meet and greet, please book at least 24 hours in advance to insure a phone conversation before your arrival.
Our place is easy to find, just look for the big black crow decoy on top of the big black mailbox! Parking is up front where the driveway forks, just look for the parking signs and walk down to the common area for your meet and greet.

10AM Country Brunch on the Farmgood
$7.00
Country Brunch is served every day around 10 AM! It could be 3 slices of thick cut maple bacon, three farm fresh eggs , toast and a choice of homemade jams. Or it might be pancakes, sausage and frest fruit from the field. Sometimes it's egg cups, toast and grits, or even corned beef hash, oatmeal and cheese eggs like the Yankees do it. It all depends on who's on cooking duty. One things for sure, it's always delicious and hardy, and always includes fresh farm-to-table delicacies from right here on our farm, many of which are also available at our produce stand and cottage food bakery!
The vibe was like in a horror movie. The bathroom situation, rusted cars. Me and my kid were too scared to stay there.

Myrkwood Festst meets Mad Max
Tent
The Myrkwood Forest was a very unique experience. Not your ordinary campsite. It has a "Mad Max" off the grid feel in a good way. A small protective barking dogs greeted my arrival. Tiny homes dotted the tree bordered property, a chicken coop had a lot of feathered activity. I saw two black hearses with "ghost tours" on the doors. Many eclectic art work and rusted antiques are scattered about. Dragonflies perched themselves on lines near the campfire. Compost toilet and outdoor shower was near camp site. I enjoyed talking to the owners and having breakfast before I left. Make sure you bring ear plugs to quiet the insect and highway noice.

Don't do it. You'll regret it. We arrived to 4 big dogs that jumped into the car on top of us when we opened the doors no one came to our aid. We could not find where we were supposed to put our tent so we just put it in the yard. The "outhouse" was completely full and closed off with a towel covering the opening and a container set on top of it but full to the brim with feces. We woke up to realize that we had stepped all in poop from the dogs and other animals. The geese kept biting my butt.... No one spoke to us the entire time we were there. Probably because they knew it was crap. The dogs ran off with one of my husband's shoes so we then had to go buy him shoes so we could do anything else which honestly was probably a blessing for him because I had to scrape all kinds of poop off of my shoes. It was the single most horrible experience created by someone else's choices that I have ever experienced. This place should not even be available on this site. I would not pitch my tent there for free. I waited two weeks to give this review thinking I would then be able to look back on the experience with our being angry but it is truly a horrible place and I feel bad for any children that live there.

Easy Going Stop
Tent
Great spot to stop and relax on a camping roadtrip down to FL. The people were kind and the space was cozy, and getting greeted by puppies was such a sweet surprise! The warm outdoor shower was lovely, and being able to make coffee in the outdoor kitchen in the morning was so convenient! We definitely plan to stop back on a future roadtrip!
