Deck with fire pit on 3 acres with a great view of Roan Mountain (rental is just the deck, you will need to bring your own tent). New outhouse built May 29.Tent deck with fire pit, 30 minutes from Roan Mountain and Appalachian Trail.  Deck is 12x20 and will fit most wall tents (rental does NOT include the tent, you will need to bring your own tent). You will need to pack in and pack out 100% of your waste (except toilet waste). Brand new outhouse built May 29 (2023). Please do not disturb our personal provisions in the deck box or under the deck (if you are having an emergency and your gear is trashed, there is an emergency canopy tent and tarps under the deck, please only use in an emergency). There is a wood splitter on the deck, if you have a hammer this thing works great. Site will be upgraded over the next year to where you can drive right in, and we will be stocking it with enough wood to last a lifetime and we will be upgrading the privy and the fire pit area and adding more decks this year! We just got this land last year and just started making improvements, it's not much now, so please cut me some slack, I'll be working hard this year to make it better, and add another campsite on the top of the ridge. Tent in pictures is NOT included...you must bring your own tent. *IF YOU HAVE OFF ROAD TRAIL CAPABLE 4X4...you can drive up the logging road and park at the bottom of the hill right below the camp. Park on the logging road right in front of the foot bridge over the stream. There is enough room to turn back around. If you get stuck or get in trouble, go back down to the dump truck, go up the loop road to the right, our other neighbor Ed lives there he will help you out. *IF YOU DO NOT HAVE 4X4...park at the split in the access road right after pavilion and pond, park off the road. You will see a dump truck and a steamroller, this is the road you want to take. Access road is half mile long hike. When you get to the U-bend in the road, there will be a massive brush-log pile, hike to the right of it and go up the logging road, look up the hill to your left you will see the foot bridge and the path to the deck. If you get stuck or get in trouble, go back down to the dump truck, go up the loop road to the right, our other neighbor Ed lives there he will help you out. On the deck if you look Northeast you are looking at Roan High Knob and beyond that Roan Mountain and the AT. We have one neighbor he is building a cabin as well his name is Claus, if you look across to the north ridge you will see his big water container. You may hear horses come by on the weekend but other than that nobody should bother you. You will also hear cows on the other side of the valley mooing in the morning, and you will hear church bells on Sunday mornings. There is a bobcat and a bear on the mountain, please be aware if you bring your dog with you keep a close eye on them and do not let them wander off into the woods. There are also raccoons and fox, and there is a large pack of coyotes on the other side of the mountain you will hear them almost every night, do not leave food out at night, all of these animals will come find it. I can sometimes get 5G service but it comes in and out, but you will always have cell service, usually LTE. There is a trail camera on the foot bridge, no I cannot shut it off remotely, yes it will take picture/video of you crossing the bridge. No I will not ever use your picture without your permission. But give us a thumbs up or wave when you pass the camera so we know you are ok and having fun! ***Property website link will take you to our Youtube page where you can see videos of the camp.***

Cool little spot. Super secluded and in a good spot in the nc. Steep getting up there but not too bad. Saw/heard lots of wildlife.
