It’s not a family vacation camping trip in Long Island without your four-legged friends.
In Long Island, pets get to be guests and can enjoy games of fetch on the white sand shores of Fire Island or sunset walks around the Long Island Sound. With roughly 600 acres of forest, Suffolk County's Wildwood State Park has a pet-friendly policy and lots of room to walk your dog between tent-sites, RV hookups, and cottage rentals. Take your pick of the lot or take your pet straight to the beaches of Sag Harbor for a romp around the shore. Rinse your dog down afterward in the Atlantic Ocean for a bath they'll actually enjoy. Or, if you’re tuckered out from puppy energy, skip the beach altogether and unwind in a cabin with a hot tub or a tent beneath the stars. No matter the time of year, listen to the waves, which will drown out even the loudest of barks.
