Me and my son had so much fun on this trip. It was a little cold but we made it through. And we enjoyed cooking out over the charcoal/wood grill. And an amazing view of the water fall near by. We loved are stay and would come back again. Thank you for the stay Grant.

This was our second time staying on Grants beautiful property in the mountains of Tracy city! It seems to get better every time we visit. We brought our 8 month old son, Arlo, and it was his very first camping trip!! Grant and his wife are such genuine and kind people, they truly go out of their way to make your experience special and memorable. The property could be a state park itself, we spent several hours exploring the mountainside and admiring Miller Falls. Our campsite was huge, clean, and perfectly situated to view the sunset. This won’t be our last time camping on Grants property, and we so look forward to returning!

Our stay was short, but our experience was great! We stayed in the Beech Treehouse where we were very cozy sleeping through a thunderstorm. The waterfall sang to us all night and was a spectacular sight in the morning. Around the treehouse grounds we enjoyed seeing toads, turtles, squirrels and birds, birds, birds. The treehouse itself is well appointed and the hospitality of hosts Grant and Becky made our little overnight a joy.

We stayed at the Outdoor Kitchen + Yurtle with a group and had a wonderful time. The waterfall is a short walk to feel like you’re in another world! We will definitely be back and hope to try out Grant’s other creative structures.

Becky and Grant have a beautiful piece of land and are incredible hosts. They truly want you to have the best time on their property and are there to help you with anything you could want/need. It’s obvious they genuinely love the company of others and that they enjoy sharing their land for others to enjoy. Words simply cannot do this place justice and we loved exploring it. We will be back soon!

4 nights at Whippoorwill Woods Nature Retreat

On arrival, the hosts were extremely inviting and so nice! The campsite itself was very spacious and pretty secluded. There was a nice little pond to fish in, a beautiful view of the sunsets, and you could see beautiful views of the valley below. There was a clean port a potty to use, a nice fire pit, and a trash can on the sight for us to use. They even invited us to come meet some baby goats, which might’ve honestly been the highlight of our trip haha. Chattanooga was about an hour drive, and Nashville was two hours, so be prepared for driving if you’re planning on doing anything outside of camping!

Enjoyed our stay on Mitchell and Macey’s property. Mitchell greeted us when we arrived and was in contact with us before arrival to make sure we made it safely to our site. We were able to purchase fresh eggs and local meat while there. Of note, if have a larger rig , enter location from North side via Highway 64. Also make sure to look for mailbox with address that turns into driveway onto property. Mitchell was a great host to communicate with and enjoyed learning about his property and the surrounding area and places to visit. Highly recommend!

There are several different areas to camp, depending on what you’re looking for at Robert’s place. There was a woodsy area, platforms for yurts and an area by a stream. Porta potty and potable water were provided. Robert was very knowledgeable about the area, its history and trails to hike. Nice stay!

Weekend Trip to River Ranch @ Summerville, GA

This is a beautiful spot with multiple options for camping. We especially enjoyed the river, which though cold was wonderful for a refreshing swim. The hosts were extremely prompt with communication, and made sure we had everything we needed. Do be aware - as other campers have mentioned, there are multiple cameras around the property, but there is a campsite a bit further walk that feels more private if the cameras bother you. Overall we loved our stay and would certainly come back!

Weekend Trip to The Falls at Sewanee Creek

Super good hosts. Loved the kitchen for sitting around and having meals together. Came primarily to hike the nearby “Fiery Gizzard” trail from end to end. Plenty of room for several tents. The waterfall close by on the property was a plus.

Weekend Trip to The Peaceful Palmer Retreat

We had another wonderful stay at Michelle’s property. We enjoyed hiking the trails to the river to cast a few lines, while listening to the turkeys and owls. We also saw a number of deer in the woods. As always, Michelle checked in on us to ensure that all was well with our visit. Hipcampers should appreciate these hosts that share their land for our enjoyment of nature and the outdoors. Get out and enjoy this retreat.

Loved the land and have been multiple times. The hosts are fantastic and attentive people. A lot has gone into the land. Rich history as well. Sugarloafers on the Lower Ocoee

Sugarloafers is located on a portion of the old Ocoee Outdoors Zipline. It is nestled along the lower Ocoee river with great views of Sugarloaf and Big Frog Mountains. This is an excellent gateway to Parksville Lake and the Cherokee National Forest and all the activities it affords including whitewater rafting on the Hiwasee and Ocoee Rivers, mountain biking, kayaking, lazy river tubing/floating, fishing, and so much more! Our property is one of nine - 5 acre tracts along the river. As of Fall of 2024, the adjacent lots have houses on them. So while this campsite is some distance from the houses, it is currently within view. Although the campsite is back from the highway, road noise can be an issue especially on the weekends. Highway 64 is one of three major roads in the county. Unfortunatley, tents don't block the sounds of Harleys racing down the road at 2 a.m. Consider bringing earplugs or muffs if you are a light sleeper! Within a mile from the end of the driveway there is: Food - Myrtles Cafe, a Subway Sandwich Shop and the Gondoler restaraunt. Whitewater Outfitters - Ocoee Outdoors, NOC Ocoee Outpost, ACE Ocoee Adventures Other - Rock Creek Oufitters Ocoee Store, Ocoee Express Gas Station and Convenience Store, Sugarloaf River Park and Parksville Dam and the entrance to the Cherokee National Forest! Dollar General & Foodcity - 4.2 miles back towards Cleveland (because someone forgot their phone charging cable and you want a 6 pack of beer). Middle Ocoee Private boater takeout is only a 10 minute drive! !!!ALSO!!! Due to the massive damage caused by hurricane Helene on September 27, 2024 - especially to I-40 through the mountains - Highway 64 is now one of the primary routes into NC from TN. Expect traffic along this route to be busier than normal.

We cannot guarantee water levels. • This is primitive off grid camping. There's no electricity or running water. Running Water Creek is a unique, fully off grid campground just 20 minutes to downtown Chattanooga. We have 80+ campsites spread out over 120 acres. Most of the roads are accessible in any small car, but some roads require 4x4 (they're marked with a sign). We have a bath house with toilets, showers, and sinks and even offer hot water! Our well and cabins are all solar powered as we are not on the electric grid. Some info about the property: -we DO NOT have water or power hookups -we have gravel roads with a 5 MPH speed limit on the property (if you drive too fast the roads will seem rough) -we are right next to a highway and train tracks so there will be some noise (some days are better than others and we have no way of predicting how many trains will/will not go by) -none of our campsites have picnic tables (please plan accordingly) -most campsites have fire rings built, but if you choose a site without one you need to build your own

After hiking through what felt like every property for sale over 100 acres in North Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee, we finally found the perfect spot. Why do we call our property Whippoorwill Woods? Did you know that whippoorwills don’t nest in trees? They lay their eggs on the ground in the forest. They’re birds that love camping! As soon as we heard the whippoorwills start singing in the spring, we knew it was the perfect name. We’re so excited to share our property with campers who love nature as much as we do. We specifically set up the campsites to give as much privacy as possible. We hope you’ll come visit and soak up the bird songs, the wind in the trees, and the beautiful sunsets over the mountains. We have 20 acres of savannah grassland full of native plants and wildflowers and over 80 untouched acres full of awesome rock formations and creeks with waterfalls available for you to hike. There's a stocked fish pond for catch and release fishing and a gorgeous view overlooking the Cumberland Plateau and the Sherwood Valley. Experienced and beginner campers are welcome! We live on one side of the property, so we’re available to assist (setting up tents for the first few times is no joke!) or we’re happy to give you as much space and solitude as you need. We have three campsites available in the native savannah grassland, and one that is a "hike-in and choose your favorite spot in the woods" site. The Land at FlatTop Mountain

Off the grid, out of the way, rustic 10 acres where you can pitch a tent, take a hike and enjoy a campfire. Mostly wooded with nearby sites to explore, a few swings for fun (swings have recently been removed due to trees falling) and a fantastically cold SEASONAL mountain creek for cooling off. Always improving our place, we recently removed the 'cabins', which were unsuitable for use. The property is part of a community, which you may notice on the way to the campsite. Site 1 (The Swings) will be first left after you turn into the driveway. It is a U shaped drive, at the bottom of the U, park and walk 15 feet to site. Site 2 (Main Container) is at the end of main driveway, next to container. Drive to end of driveway, park and walk 10 feet to camp. Both are equidistant to the outhouse. Please look through all of the listing information. The road into The Land is gravel and some bedrock; high ground clearance vehicles are best but all vehicles can make the journey. Very tough to navigate in the dark. GPS will NOT get you there, please do not use GPS or map on listing. We will send detailed directions the day before your booking. Follow those in the daylight and you'll be fine. Please know your poison ivy, ticks and copperheads; they all exist at The Land. Just drive slowly and navigate as needed. The buildings (*all buildings have recently been removed) on the land were built with lumber cut from the property. Previous owners farmed rabbits and had a system in place for water. The SEASONAL creek at the bottom of the slope is wonderful and there is a spot for two adults to sit down into the crisp water and plenty of room for lots of feet. If you follow the path in the middle of the property, a 30 minute walk (therefore not on our property) will take you to a beautiful swimming hole. It's cold! There is no power or running water at the property so it's an ideal place to get away from daily life and truly relax. We hope you will enjoy it as much as our family does! Please read everything on this listing. Please note that even though some pictures show buildings, there are no longer cabins/shelter on The Land. We are unable to remove pictures Hipcampers post. It is raw 10 acres so, yes there are ticks. Cover up and spray as you see fit, just be aware. Also, since it is 10 acres of trees, there is plenty of firewood. We don't leave any bundles, just find down limbs and presto, firewood. DO NOT USE THE MAP LISTED OR GOOGLE MAPS. It will take you straight through water. We send detailed directions to you once the day before your booking. Please plan to travel in with daylight, it is incredibly difficult to navigate to our space in the dark.
