A lovely spot with views of the lake. Fairly exposed but there are tree areas to be more sheltered. Plenty of kangaroo. Very dry, so no grass, but even thought it rained the ground was reasonably solid.

We camped here in March. Nice location and plenty of space though that is easy to say as we were the only ones there. Shower was especially good and toilets clean and modern. Close to the Murray river for a swim or just relaxing sit down on the bank.

4 nights at Whip Stick Forest

This is an awesome spot with easy access into Bendigo. We were very comfortable on Site 2, and stayed for the long weekend. All the sites are very spacious, clean and provided all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. Chrissy was a great communicator and made us feel very welcome, along with her Mum (Judy). We received very clear instructions to navigate our way there. The dogs and cat are very friendly, loved their daily visits. We highly recommend Whip Stick Forest, heaps better than a Caravan Park! Thanks Chrissy!

Weekend Trip to Somerville Park (Bendigo)

Sheryl, Bec and Tom (and Champ their Jack Russell pup!) are fantastic hosts. Very friendly and accommodating. We had seperate groups arriving at different days/times and they were met at the gate and shown the way to our camp each time with a welcoming friendly chat. The land is massive and plenty of space between the various camp sites, and we had no issues with noise from other camps. Great place to camp and watch the Kangaroos graze when the sun goes down. Can recommend and would stay again!

This campsite is absolutely stunning, with beautiful scenery and a group of adorable kangaroos roaming around in the evening. The hosts are incredibly warm and welcoming—they even greet you personally at the gate, which made us feel truly touched. They are always ready to help with any issues, and we’re especially grateful to Tom and Bec for coming over to jump-start our car when the battery died. Plus, waking up to a lovely coffee van in the morning really made my day! We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great camping experience.

Sebastian Grasslands

Approx 400 acres, mostly open grazing land, 25km north of Bendigo, nearby the Whipstick Forest area. Camp in a restful, private setting, surrounded by a wonderful vista of natural flora and fauna. The property is a working sheep grazing farm, with plenty of wide open space perfect for campers. We have several camping locations dotted around the property. All the vegetation is native to the area, predominately Blue and Green Mallees, with patches of Gray Box and Yellow Gum timber. Eastern Grey Kangaroos are known to graze on the native grasses that grow here. A number of bird species also populate the area, including Galahs, Magpies, Choughs, black and wood ducks etc. Nothing beats waking to birdsong and distant sheeps bleeting in the morning! Whipstick Forest is approximately 3km East of us, and has several beautiful walking trails. Spring, with its wildflower displays, is a particularly spectacular time to explore the area. Campers must be self-contained, with their own camp loo, and take all waste with them. Pets may be accepted on occasion, but please check with the Host prior to booking as there are grazing sheep on the property. Generally, small pets only, that can be kept under control, and return to call.

Tom’s Run is located on the Cobb Highway, 8 kilometres from the town of Deniliquin. The land has been managed through organic farming practices over more than 20 years. We run alpaca and dorper sheep. The farmland dries off in October, over long, hot summers, and greens up with autumn rain and/or irrigation from April each year. Hot summer days and nights. Winter mornings can begin with a frost. Deniliquin has many tourist destinations and the Edward River is popular for fishing, swimming and water sports in summer. Lake Eppalock is a 25min drive where you can engage in water sport activities. The Campaspe River is 10mins away. From your camp, roughly a 1 kilometre walk through the forest. On our boundary is Backwater Creek, which fills with water when the Murray River is up. NOTE: Creek is often dry. A shearing shed is available that sleeps 5, plus we offer a number of campsites, with lots of clear space available for camping/caravans/motor homes to park up in quiet bushland surrounds. Lots of wildlife and bird life. Peaceful as minimal neighbours and no traffic. Bush roads for miles of bushwalking/bike riding. Waterways within 20 minutes drive. Sunsets are amazing and stargazing opportunities are incredible, right under the Milky Way!

You are free to explore the entire property, find a quiet spot under the old gum trees or discover the adjoining state forest with its abundance of wildlife and the valley of the giant grass trees. Catch a few yabbies in the large dam but please remember to return as many as possible for the next adventurers. Unless you’re a dog, swimming is not permitted in the dam! Discover rustic old town of Nagambie only 15 minutes by car, and the famous Mitchelton winery or the older style Tahbilk are both close to the property. The Nagambie brewery is a newcomer in town. The Nagambie Lake Hosts fishing and water sports all year round.

Bundarra is a free range livestock and regenerative working farm, on Barapa Barapa country just outside Barham. Our farm and the forest surrounding us is an ancient floodplain steeped in indigenous history and changing landscapes. We offer seasonal camping at changing sites at either of our farms, and block our calendar when we have on-farm works happening such as sowing, events, we are away or carrying out projects such as land improvement. . The forest has beautiful trails to walk along and the farm is also a nice wander in the morning and evening. In wet years the wetland is brimming with birds and animals. The sunsets are second to none at Barham so get settled in to enjoy in time. Kangaroos often visit for a drink and we have working dogs which patrol the farm keeping an eye on the pigs, please do not bring your pets as our dogs can get stressed as they are protecting their land. The Murray River is a short distance away and we can show you where to launch a kayak or have a swim. Also ask us about nearby farms worth visiting with farm gates. We do not have a portable toilet so please come self contained.

Located on a vacant paddock, close to the heart of town and on the Midland Highway. This property is great place to park up while you explore all this region has to offer. We are close to the town centre of Bendigo where you will find plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops for all your needs. There are public toilet facilities and park areas where you can access a BBQ if required. Campers are required to be self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Sorry, we are unable to allow pets or campfires at this time.

The campsite is 500m away from the main road so if privacy and serenity is what you're looking for, you have ticked the box. The Whroo cemetery is not far away with 4WD tracks all around.
