Speak to us about using us for a working space for corporate or business trips, collaborations and more......... Watton Airstrip is a stunning property, nestled on the banks of the Macquarie River. Featuring an amazing rustic cabin, nine riverside campsites, along with paddock and bush sites, all 4WD accessible and two equally stunning 2WD accessible sites. You’ll share our spaces with kangaroos, wallabies, emus, echidnas, deer, platypus and more. Enjoy some optional extras, including Tammie's home made bread, farm fresh, free range eggs, or one of our range of grazing platters, home made jams or hot chocolate kits. Or pamper yourself with a Crystal reiki session, or tarot reading. The 2WD accessible sites feature spectacular views to the right, towards Mt Panorama and Mt Horrible and towards Mt Canobolas to the left. Lie back in your swag at night and let the star struck, velvety sky envelope you, or make a booking at the nearby Bathurst Observatory to see the stars up close. Each campsite offers its own unique features for you to enjoy and a hand crafted pit toilet is accessible to those camped along the river bank. Fish or swim in the river, ride your bikes, or set up camp and then head off on an adventure to the Goldfields at Ophir, or History Hill at Hill End via the Bridle Track. Better still, book into a pub crawl with Damo so you can lie back and enjoy the ride. There are plenty of opportunities for 4WDing and bushwalking in the local area. Fires are allowed (fire restrictions permitting). Wood can be collected from fallen wood around the property, or bring your own if you prefer. Pets are welcome for a one off fee per animal. We do ask that pets are supervised at all times and that they do not interfere with farm animals or local wildlife.

The Beach 4WD Only

Highly recommended!

Amazing property. We camped right beside the small rapids and had the best sleep! Tammie and Damo were really friendly! Will definitely be back in summer!

Riverview Cabin 4WD Only

Relaxing riverview cabin

The cabin was great, it had everything we needed, including a nice surprise of eggs and home baked bread! We enjoyed the beautiful scenery. The kids loved to watch the horses and explore. It was a successful fishing trip for one of my daughter's. We live in Bathurst so this was a great escape so close to home. Thank you for sharing your land.

Peaceful place away from the city

Perfect getaway! Well looked after. The sounds of the river rapids soothing! Horses on the land pass by keeping to themselves, great to see them always together.

The Deep Spot 4WD Only

Wow what a beautiful place Watton Airstrip is. We camped in our caravan at the Deep Spot and this was the perfect site for us. From our camp we watched the platypus playing and the lizards sunbathing, the fish jumping, horses grazing and the Eagles soaring high, what an amazing peaceful place this is. Damien and his family are very welcoming and a pleasure to talk to, unfortunately we didn't get to meet Tammie this time but we will be back. A big thank you to Andy and Jenn who welcomed us when we first arrived, you are all awesome people. Thankyou for a great couple of days away.

We Absolutely loved it!

This was our first visit to Watton Airstrip, and we absolutely loved it! The property was perfect, providing us with the most relaxing experience. We especially enjoyed the visits from the resident horses. We’ll definitely be returning! Thank you Damien and Tammie 😊
